Breiden Fehoko found himself in a public feud with former teammate Kyle Van Noy this week.
Now, though, the former defensive tackle has made an even bigger allegation about the Super Bowl champion’s time with the Los Angeles Chargers.

In a recent segment of his podcast, Fehoko claimed Van Noy actually wanted the Chargers to lose because he was not starting.
“Phony, you got to the Chargers in 2022, and you were purposely wishing for us to lose,” he said on “The Fehoko Show.”
“Because they didn’t start your [expletive], and it was so bad,” Fehoko added. “It got to the point where you got to the Chargers. They tried to put you at linebacker. You couldn’t beat out Drew Tranquill; you couldn’t beat out Kenneth Murray, so you got [expletive] mad.”

When the Chargers brought Van Noy in ahead of the 2022 season, the coaching staff initially viewed him as an inside linebacker. But he struggled to claim a starting spot during training camp and the opening weeks. Drew Tranquill and Kenneth Murray Jr. remained ahead of him, leaving Van Noy with fewer defensive snaps than expected.
So, Van Noy entered a rotational role early in the season, rather than becoming a full-time starter. That frustration eventually pushed the Chargers to move Van Noy toward the edge, according to Fehoko.

“So what happens? You can’t beat out Kenneth Murray and Drew Tranquill in a linebacker battle? So what do they do? They move your [expletive] to edge rusher,” Fehoko said.
“You forgetting who you [expletive] vented to when you were on the [expletive] bench, dummy?” Fehoko added. “And I see all these Chargers fans, [saying] ‘Kyle, you’re a legend,’ No, this [expletive] didn’t care. All he cared about was his [expletive] stats.”

The Chargers’ plans for Van Noy changed in Week 3 when Joey Bosa suffered a serious groin tear that required surgery. Van Noy found a much larger role on the edge.
By season’s end, Van Noy had played 734 defensive snaps, or 70.11% of the Chargers’ defensive workload.

He had 30 solo tackles, 16 assists, 1 forced fumble, and 2 fumble recoveries in 17 games. He also recorded 5.0 sacks, turning into an important part of the pass rush instead of battling Tranquill and Murray for snaps.
According to PFN’s EDGE Impact Metric, Van Noy posted an impact score of 77.0 with the Chargers, ranking 41st at the position.
Before his recent remarks, Fehoko had already made a few more takes on Van Noy.
“A fake teammate,” he posted on X on Thursday. “An individual who only cared about stats. An individual who only cared about his incentives in 2022. One of the fakest locker room guys I’ve ever been around. ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ Don’t take my word for it, ask that 2022 Chargers roster.”
Then Fehoko shared a few more takes, which add another layer to Fehoko’s claim that Van Noy prioritized personal production.
Van Noy has played 12 NFL seasons so far, with time on teams including the Lions, Patriots, Dolphins, Chargers, and Ravens, and has won two Super Bowls (during his Patriots tenure). Now he is entering his 13th season with the Minnesota Vikings.
