The NFL Top 100 Players of 2026 continues with Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford coming in at No. 4. During his 17th NFL season, Stafford led the league in passing yards (4,707) and throwing touchdowns (46) en route to winning the NFL MVP award.
Ranking No. 4 in a poll conducted among his fellow players at 38 years old is a fantastic achievement, but some NFL fans had a different takeaway: How is the reigning league MVP ranked lower than Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen?
NFL Fans Cannot Believe Josh Allen Is Ranked Above Matthew Stafford
On Tuesday, the NFL announced that Stafford secured the fourth spot in the NFL Top 100, which means the final three players are expected to be Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson, Los Angeles Rams EDGE Myles Garrett, and Allen.
It’s unclear how high Allen will be ranked, but some fans immediately reacted to the possibility of the Bills QB ranking higher than Stafford.
“Josh Allen PR needs to be explained; no way he should be above Stafford or JSN,” said one fan.
Likewise, someone replied, “HOW IS ALLEN OVER THE MVP LMFAOOOOOO”

Others were surprised that Allen was ranked ahead of Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba as well.
“So Josh is ranked over the OPOY, Super Bowl-winning WR, and the MVP,” one fan wrote.
Smith-Njigba edged out Christian McCaffrey and Stafford’s teammate, Puka Nacua, for Offensive Player of the Year honors last season. Smith-Njigba finished the regular season with a league-leading 1,793 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns while helping the Seahawks win the Super Bowl.

Another user included a screenshot of Stafford earning 24 first-place votes in the NFL MVP race while Allen got only two, with the caption: “But Josh is about to be above Matthew… This is getting outta hand”

Finally, another NFL fan commented, “MVP, Stafford at 4. Below Allen and Bijan is ridiculous.”
Interestingly, Robinson himself appeared on the video and declared Stafford as the league’s No. 1 player.

In addition to getting two first-place votes in the MVP race, Allen finished sixth in the OPOY voting after finishing the regular season with 3,668 passing yards, 579 rushing yards, and 39 total touchdowns.
Last season, Stafford posted the second-best QB Impact Score (87.0) behind only New England Patriots QB and MVP runner-up Drake Maye (91.8). For reference, Allen earned an 80.3 QB Impact Score, which ranked ninth in the NFL last year.
Some fans clearly believe that Stafford deserves to be ranked higher in the NFL Top 100. For what it’s worth, PFN’s NFL Top 100 Players ranked Allen No. 1 with Stafford coming in at No. 14.
In Week 5, the two quarterbacks will face off against each other in a Monday Night Football showdown at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
