LeBron James signed a two-year, veteran-minimum deal with the Philadelphia 76ers after they traded for and acquired Jaylen Brown.
It’s clear that the 41-year-old saw the vision, with Brown paired with Maxey and Joel Embiid, as he looks to hunt for his fifth championship.
Just as James is seemingly enamored by Brown and his addition to the team, the former Boston Celtics’ star seems to feel the same way and raved about James’ health during a recent Twitch stream.
76ers’ Jaylen Brown Sings LeBron James’ Praises
James, Brown, and Maxey practiced together this summer with Chris Johnson. After the session, Brown raved about how good the team and LBJ in particular looked during the practice.
“Getting work in. Building chemistry with the guys. Maxey is a dog. LeBron is the [expletive], you don’t even need to say what LeBron is, he looks good. Healthy. So, we’re working, man. We worked out a few times.”
“[Tyrese] Maxey is a dog. LeBron [James] is the f*cking… you don’t even need to say what LeBron is. He look good, healthy. … LeBron is in his Kobe [Bryant] year. Year 24.”

“So, that’s good to get in the gym with your teammates and get a feel for one another. You can feel the energy level is high. The talent is high, and we just gotta come with the right approach.”
Brown then praised James for his fitness levels.
“This is crazy. This is me throwing a lob, left-hand lob. LeBron is 40 –24 [year]. This is his Kobe year. LeBron is in his Kobe year, year 24… C’mon bro the energy is there.”
James is set to turn 42 this December, and he’s still capable of contributing to championship-level basketball. He averaged 23.2 points, 7.3 assists, and 6.7 rebounds in the Playoffs this past season, with Luka Doncic missing due to injury.
Brown asserting that James is “healthy” is a welcome sign for fans as the league’s all-time leading scorer started the 2025-26 season by missing the first 14 games due to sciatica on his right side, marking the first time in James’ career he missed opening night.

Brown’s confident statement also suggests that any minor ailments James had in the latter half of the season, such as a bruised left elbow and arthritis in his left foot, have subsided.
It’s clear James is locked into winning a title as he’s in the twilight of his career, or as he’d describe it, his “last decision”.
In a tweet announcing his move to Philly in July, he said, “I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time.”
If Nick Nurse can find a way to turn several ball-dominant stars into a cohesive half-court offense, the Sixers will surely catapult up the standings and earn themselves homecourt advantage at the minimum in a loaded Eastern Conference.
