‘I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry,’ ‘Well Deserved’ — NFL World Has Mixed Reaction to Ryan Clark’s ‘The Pivot’ Inking Netflix Deal

Former ESPN analyst Ryan Clark has rebounded nicely with a Netflix podcast deal, but reactions are a bit scattered.

The last time the collective sports world had Ryan Clark at the forefront of their minds, it was because he was being relieved of his duties at ESPN. Plenty of drama followed, including Clark suggesting he was fired rather than laid off.

Well, now Clark is back in the news, and it’s safe to say he’s landed on his feet quite nicely with his next act.

Netflix Picks Up Ryan Clark’s ‘The Pivot’ Podcast

Clark may no longer be employed by ESPN, but on Monday, he revealed that “The Pivot” podcast is heading to Netflix, starting Sept. 8.

This announcement prompted some strong reactions from the NFL world.

One instant reaction called it the “best Netflix deal I’ve heard of” and said the move was “well deserved” for Clark and Co.

Of course, not everyone agreed. The WalterFootball account sarcastically called it a “great move by Netflix to pay millions for something 10 people will watch.”

One suggested that, “Between Ryan Clark and Elle Duncan, Netflix loves lighting money on fire.”

Another commenter went as far as to say, “I’d rather watch paint dry,” than tune into Clark’s podcast on Netflix.

Another urged Clark to go “get that bag” as he just did with Netflix, while others celebrated the multi-year deal.

“I’ll definitely be watching and supporting The Pivot!!” one fan added.

While the salary included in the deal wasn’t reported, one would think it’s a fairly attractive offer.

Clark’s “The Pivot” podcast has generated 70.9 thousand followers on X alone.

Now, Clark’s crew will have a whole different type of audience, one that’s boosted by the access that Netflix provides. But of course, that doesn’t mean everyone will suddenly start to tune in.

Still, by the looks of it, Clark will have plenty of supporters, just like he did before and after ESPN.
