Netflix is giving The Pivot a major new platform, and the deal has also brought some old podcast drama back into the spotlight.
The streaming giant announced a multi-year partnership with The Pivot Podcast, bringing video episodes of the popular sports and culture show to Netflix beginning Sept. 8, 2026. The show is hosted by Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor.
The announcement quickly reminded fans of the complicated history between the hosts and former I Am Athlete founder Brandon Marshall.

Taylor and Crowder were originally part of I Am Athlete, which was founded by Marshall. Following a public fallout in 2022, Taylor and Crowder eventually teamed up with Clark to launch The Pivot.
Since then, the show has grown into a major media brand, surpassing 500 episodes and nearly 1 billion views. The Netflix agreement now represents another major step forward for the podcast.
With the news spreading online, many fans immediately brought Marshall into the conversation and wondered what the deal could have meant for him, given the podcast’s history.
One fan called it the “biggest bag fumble of all time,” arguing that I Am Athlete had once been much bigger than The Pivot.

Another said, “Brandon Marshall gotta be SICKKKKK,” while one commenter claimed he “had a good thing and [expletive] it up.”
One fan said, “Marshall [expletive] tried to finesse them but blessings come to good people,” while Jaron B wrote, “Brandon Marshall really dropped the bag!!”

The jokes continued, with one commenter saying, “Somewhere Brandon Marshall is [expletive],” while another suggested he must be “internally crashing out over that Netflix news.”
Another fan simply wrote, “I know Brandon Marshall is sick right now.”
While most of the reactions focused on Marshall, some fans pushed back against turning the Netflix announcement into another round of personal criticism.
Christie defended Marshall, saying, “You can congratulate the Pivot without taking jabs at Brandon Marshall. Yall love that guy, or maybe you just don’t know how to congratulate someone. Who knows?”

The Netflix deal is also a significant moment for Clark. It comes just over a month after his departure from ESPN.
As part of the agreement, Clark’s Pivot25 Productions will produce exclusive bonus episodes for Netflix, giving the partnership an additional production component.
For The Pivot, the deal is a major milestone. For fans, however, it has also reopened one of the more memorable podcast rivalries in sports media.
