Caitlin Clark is as divisive a superstar in the WNBA as can be. This has proven itself to be true time and time again with ESPN’s David Dennis Jr., prior to the 2026 All-Star Game, defending Clark’s fellow WNBA players voting her as the ‘11th best guard’ in the league. He said,
“What bothers me is when this is framed as some sort of petty jealousy or insecurity by these women in the WNBA. Because that’s not what I’m seeing is happening with Caitlin Clark.”
A resurfaced clip from this past July of Dennis Jr. speaking on Clark has now led to former ESPN sportscaster Linda Cohn to poke fun at him. The WNBA world has also galvanized against him to back Cohn.

“I don’t think you can make a compelling argument that Caitlin Clark is a top four guard in the WNBA. Nobody can at this point. That is why she was 11th.”
Cohn recently reposted the aforementioned clip of Dennis Jr. saying Clark isn’t a “top four guard in the WNBA” and captioned it, “Need a laugh?” followed by two laughing emojis.

Fans online were loving this from the broadcasting legend as they thronged social media to show love to Cohn for being upfront.

“Must have been a miserable place to work the last several years,” said one fan who echoed the previous user’s sentiment of being thankful that Cohn left ESPN.
One user kept the ‘praise-train’ going, saying, “Linda Cohn is a legend in broadcasting and I know she is honest and fair to the circumstances she speaks on.”

Cohn has been a Clark-truther for quite some time now.
Last week, she took to X to express frustration over the NCAA March Madness account highlighting Olivia Miles, A’ja Wilson, Angel Reese, and Paige Bueckers in a post about women’s college basketball players who have set unprecedented records, without including CC. She wrote,
“You got to be kidding me. You don’t have to ignore and exclude the game’s biggest star in Caitlin Clark in order to praise others? Why can’t you do both!?!?!?”
Clark, while she did not publicly address Dennis Jr. nor the NCAA March Madness post, might secretly find solace in the fact that not everybody in the realm of women’s basketball is gunning against her.
