Rookie rankings are all about balancing immediate opportunity with long-term upside, and Jeremiyah Love sits at the top of this board as the clear 1.01. Carnell Tate follows as the first wide receiver off the board, while Jadarian Price, Makai Lemon and De’Zhaun Stribling round out a top five loaded with high-upside skill-position talent.
The biggest debate comes at quarterback — or, more accurately, the lack of one near the top. Fernando Mendoza doesn’t appear until No. 12, behind eight receivers and three running backs, while Kenyon Sadiq is the first tight end at No. 19. Should I Draft Jeremiyah Love in Fantasy Football?
An August high-ankle sprain has added another layer to this evaluation. The injury could slow him in September (missed time doesn’t seem likely at the moment), but we’ve seen this hotshot prospect improve with time, and there’s no reason to think the same won’t be true here.
The jump cuts can be breathtaking, and the tackle-breaking elite. His ability to do damage as a pass catcher, however, can be what elevates him from a modest return on investment to the type of player who swings your league.
He averaged north of 10 yards per catch last season at Notre Dame, a skill set that should be on full display as a part of an offense that led the league in attempts a season ago.
We see these high-pedigree RBs pay off, and until that changes, I’m comfortable paying this price. Since 2012, RBs drafted inside of the top-10 of the NFL draft have given us 17.4 PPR points per game as rookies. If you consider Jeanty’s 2025 campaign a worst-case scenario, you’d be borderline crazy not to add Love to your roster, no matter the format.
The only hole to poke in this profile is the team around him. Should Arizona struggle in a major way from the jump, we could see Carson Beck take over this offense. That wouldn’t destroy Love’s value, but it is a change of pace that would likely have a negative impact at the worst possible time.
Fearing that change is playing scared, in my opinion. Love’s scouting report reads like what we saw from Bijan Robinson coming out of school, and that’s more than enough optimism to sell me on the idea of drafting him before he plays a single down that counts.
