‘Comically Bad And Objectively False’ — Broncos Fans Rip Ex-Chiefs OL’s Blatantly Inaccurate Take on Bo Nix

Denver Broncos fans are understandably annoyed that Bo Nix isn't getting the proper respect he deserves, even from former players.

The 2024 NFL Draft was stacked with superstar quarterback talent. So far, Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams, and Drake Maye have all put together incredible seasons. Yet somehow, the guy with the most wins from the group, Bo Nix, isn’t held in the same regard.

Despite some excellent numbers, the youngster hasn’t been as highly touted due to the eye test. But a former Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman made some incredibly disparaging comments about him, leading to Denver Broncos fans defending their guy.

Why Broncos Fans Are Irritated By Geoff Schwartz’s Take on Bo Nix

Through two seasons, Nix has tallied over 7,700 passing yards and nearly 800 rushing yards while adding 63 total touchdowns against just 24 turnovers. As a rookie, he ranked at number 17 on PFN’s Quarterback Impact Metrics and was at number 19 last season.

Moreover, he’s been a winning presence for the Broncos, leading them to consecutive playoff appearances. Last year, he led them to the AFC Championship Game, but a broken ankle in overtime of the Divisional Round ended his season early.

Still, Geoff Schwartz was skeptical about what Nix could achieve on the field. Making an appearance on “First Things First,” the former Chief didn’t trust his ability to move the ball downfield.

“I do think he just is what he is at this point. He looks like the same quarterback he was in college… He’s consistent. He’s not gonna make mistakes. But he’s not gonna push the
ball down the field all that often.”

However, after posting on X, his take was hit with a community note as fans pointed out, “Bo Nix has thrown the most deep touchdown passes of 20+ air yards since the start of the 2024 season (19 including postseason), per official Next Gen Stats.”

Fans loved that referendum against Schwartz, as they exclaimed, “This take by Geoff Schwartz was comically bad and objectively false. Now it has been community noted. You love to see it.”

Former quarterback Luke McCown, too, took a shot at Schwartz, claiming, “Whoopsie…Just follow the narrative instead of doing your homework.” Another fan snidely noted, “You guys should try actually watching the games sometime.”

One fan poked holes in almost all of Schwartz’s comments, going step by step, disproving each of them. He explained, “This is wildly inaccurate in so many ways. 1. He absolutely does push the ball downfield. 2. Consistency was one of his biggest weaknesses last year, not a strength.”

Then, he went to the downfield comments: “3. He throws a lot of short yardage passes bc Sean Payton dials them up, but if he needs to go deep, he will.” Finally, he believed dismissing his growth from his first game to now was a “crazy” stance to take.

Even folks who were fans of the work Schwartz had done in his career couldn’t agree with this particular assessment. “Geoff is awesome, but this is an awful take.”

It remains to be seen if another successful season for the Broncos finally forces people to acknowledge how good Nix has been so far in his career. But if the team takes a step back, especially after adding a true number one wide receiver like Jaylen Waddle, then his critics could get louder than ever before.
