Since entering the league, Allgeier has logged just a single DNP over four years. That kind of durability means availability is a genuine skill that he possesses, and there is never a bad time to have that on your fantasy roster. There is always a point in the season where we are looking for any warm body to flex and Allgeier has been there for us in the past.
Should I Draft Tyler Allgeier in Fantasy Football?
We have already seen what he can do with opportunity; he has legitimate experience as the lead man back in 2022 when he ran for over 1,000 yards as a fifth-round rookie. However, that was before he ran into a string of bad luck in terms of backfield mates: he simply can’t avoid franchises that draft generational RB prospects

Now operating behind prized rookie Jeremiyah Love in Arizona, Allgeier’s path to standalone value appears just as blocked as it was in Atlanta. While Love suffered a high ankle sprain during camp, history strongly suggests that premier rookie running backs only get better and command more volume as the season goes on. Once Love is fully integrated, this is his backfield that is more than likely to concentrate their usage around him.

Furthermore, Allgeier’s profile lacks the passing game upside necessary to salvage his value in PPR formats, as he has never managed to hit 20 receptions in a single season. He has such a narrow production tree that he needs a near perfect situation around him in order to produce and we pretty clearly don’t have that in the desert.
Because of that capped role ceiling, Allgeier is strictly an insurance policy for your bench. The contingent value is there if Love were to miss extended time, as Allgeier has proven he can handle NFL volume. But while the depth chart remains intact, standalone value simply won’t have a chance to materialize. Roster him with those explicit handcuff expectations and nothing more.
