Shedeur Sanders has been a polarizing name ever since he came into the NFL. A historic draft day slide derailed his career to begin with. But even when given the starting quarterback opportunities, he hasn’t been able to take complete advantage of them.
Unfortunately, things might be going from bad to worse for the second-generation star on the eve of the 2026 season. Someone from his camp threatened to engage in a fight with the media, which left the entire football world stunned at the development.
Shedeur Sanders Is Getting a Bad Name
After starting the final seven games of the season in 2025, Sanders went back to square one this summer, as he was once again embroiled in a quarterback battle, this time against Deshaun Watson.
Now, as the former Houston Texans star seems to be inching closer to being named QB1, the situation is turning worse for Sanders because of a personality on X named “Boog.”
Reportedly, the head of operations at Young Money APAA, Hellion “Boog” Knight, plays a key role in handling brand-building, logistics, and representation for Sanders. But he’s also a volatile personality who threatened violence on social media.

It immediately caught everyone’s attention, especially after he followed it up with another dangerous claim: “Section 135b, row 21, if ANYONE wants to talk to me about anything. It’s a rain delay, so now is a great time to pass time.”

The interaction caught the eyes of some prominent personalities in Cleveland, including “92.3 The Fan” host Anthony Lima, who called out the behavior and said, “They may worship Shedeur, but they take their personal conduct cues from Shilo.”

A Pro Football Writers’ Association contributor, though, couldn’t shake the absurdity of the entire ordeal, pointing out, “We got members of the QB’s camp outwardly looking to fight Cleveland media members on the day the Browns have a preseason game lmfao. Amazing content.”

One fan was done with that pattern, calling for a radical change within the Browns, wrote, “Can we please just cut him?”
Others, though, saw it as inevitable, anticipating the reaction from the Sanders camp.
“When he gets cut because of this nonsense, I wonder who they’ll blame,” a user on X wondered, while another one was certain: “If Watson wins the job, I don’t think it’s that crazy to think Sanders gets traded or cut.”

Coming into the league as the son of Deion Sanders, there was a ton of hype about what he could accomplish in the league. But after his draft day slide, his performances on the field justified his draft positioning.
As a result, the fan base has quickly soured on him as a legitimate long-term answer for the Browns. As one fan mocked, “All for a 5th round pick who doesn’t have a (+) arm, (+) athleticism, and processes slowly lol ppl around him really have done him harm.”
It remains to be seen what the next few months look like for Sanders. But with the head coach angling towards Watson to be QB1 to start the season, his leash on the Browns could be extremely small.
Moreover, as Sanders’ team is turning away from a segment of the fan base and from the media covering the team, the quarterback’s chances of remaining on the roster could continue to diminish.
