‘I Think They Have the Best Team’ — Micah Parsons Snubs Cowboys for Another ‘Scary’ Team in NFC East Rankings

Micah Parsons backs the Eagles over the Cowboys in his NFC East rankings, calling Philadelphia “very scary” ahead of the 2026 season.

Micah Parsons may now wear green and gold, but his latest NFC East prediction has plenty of meaning for his former team. The Green Bay Packers star has placed the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of the Dallas Cowboys in his projected division order.

His reasoning centers on Philadelphia’s strong offensive line and proven defensive talent, which give the Eagles an edge in his view.

Micah Parsons Calls Philadelphia “Very Scary” as Cowboys Rank Second

Parsons ranked the Eagles No. 1 in the NFC East, followed by the Cowboys at No. 2, the Washington Commanders at No. 3, and the New York Giants at No. 4.

While discussing the division on Bleacher Report, Parsons pointed to Philadelphia’s overall roster construction as the deciding factor. “I just think that they have the best team,” he said, while acknowledging the Eagles have a new offensive coordinator in Sean Mannion.

This change, however, did not alter his view of the roster. Parsons described Philadelphia as “scary” and stressed how difficult the team can be to play when its key pieces are healthy.

“That team is scary. It’s very scary to play,” Parsons said.

The defensive front is a major reason for his confidence. Parsons highlighted Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter as one of the league’s strongest interior pairings then turned his attention toward Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in the secondary.

“Besides Tennessee, who has a better interior duo than Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter?” Parsons asked. He also called Mitchell and DeJean “a real duo,” pointing to their recent production and development.

Philadelphia’s offensive line ultimately became the biggest separator in Parsons’ evaluation. He believes the unit can limit the impact of opposing defensive fronts, including Dallas’ revamped group.

About the Cowboys, Parsons said, “Obviously, at number two, we will go to Dallas Cowboys. I think… they showed us something when they beat the Philadelphia Eagles in that second match of last year.”

The Cowboys have invested heavily in their defense since Parsons left, adding Quinnen Williams, Kenny Clark, Rashan Gary, and Von Miller. Yet Parsons still believes Philadelphia’s line gives the Eagles an advantage that other NFC East teams will struggle to overcome.

“Obviously, like we said, Philadelphia has one of the best O-lines in football,” Parsons said. He explained that the Eagles can counter teams that rely heavily on expensive defensive talent.

“They combat a lot of teams of where they like, “Hey, we put a lot of money, and we can be dominant.” That’s why I’m putting them at number one.”

Parsons’ ranking stands out even more because Dallas traded him to Green Bay before the 2025 season. The Cowboys received Kenny Clark and 2026 and 2027 first-round picks, while Parsons eventually signed a four-year, $188 million Packers extension.

After that move, Dallas struggled defensively in the 2025 season, ranking last in PFN NFL Defense Impact. However, the team has since built its defense around depth rather than one dominant pass rusher. Parsons, meanwhile, is recovering from a torn ACL and remains on Green Bay’s PUP list.

His most optimistic return target is Week 6, which could put him on the field against Dallas. For now, though, his NFC East prediction has made his view of Philadelphia’s chances crystal clear.
