The Green Bay Packers took a measured approach in incorporating Jordan Love into the fold. Despite drafting him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, it wasn’t until the 2023 season that he became the full-time starter for the franchise.
During that timeframe, the Utah State product was allowed to learn under a legendary quarterback in Aaron Rodgers and an offensive mastermind in Matt LaFleur. But entering his seventh season in the league, one analyst believes the pressure is firmly on Love.
Analyst Says Jordan Love Needs to Deliver on the Hype
The upside of Love has been visible from the first day. Given his arm strength, underrated athleticism, and decision-making, it is easy to see why he has enamoured the Packers fan base so quickly.
But some of his passes have been highly questionable, with 22 interceptions through the 2023 and 2024 seasons putting his ball security into question. Last year, though, saw a dramatic turnaround in his turnover numbers.
Over the course of the season, he played in 15 games, totalling 23 touchdowns. As a result, he finished at number four on PFSN’s QB Impact Metrics.
Green Bay backed into the postseason as the NFC’s No. 7 seed for a third straight year. Love then threw for a playoff career-high 323 yards and four touchdowns against Chicago, and the Packers lost 31-27 anyway after leading 21-3 at halftime.

One playoff win in four postseason starts is the number that follows him around.
Evan Cohen of ESPN, on the “Unsportsmanlike” radio show, explained what was at stake for the 27-year-old. “I understand how good Jordan Love can be. But we are at a place now where there is no quarterback, I think, that has to produce individual success more than him.”

In three years as the full-time starter, Love has led Green Bay to 29 regular-season wins and one playoff victory.
As a result, Cohen believes that the team success aspect isn’t as important for Love. Instead, his focus is solely on the raw numbers that he can produce.
Cohen added: “He’s had an excellent start to his career; nobody’s doubting that. But the proclamations of ‘smartest I’ve been around, best at this, top-10 quarterback,’ I think we need to see a season from Jordan Love where he just blows us away with how great he is to back up all of the words about him.”
It remains to be seen if Love can put it all together this year. Micah Parsons has said he won’t be back before mid-October, which means Love carries the first six weeks without the best defensive player on the roster.
