The Dallas Cowboys are looking to bounce back from a disappointing season last year in which they missed out on the playoffs. Upgrading their defense would be one way they could improve their chances of reaching the postseason in the upcoming campaign. They could do so by adding a future Hall of Famer who recently expressed interest in joining them.
Cowboys Could Land Interested NFL Legend Ahead of 2026 Training Camp
The Cowboys featured one of the best offenses in the NFL last year, but their defense severely struggled. This includes them ranking last overall in PFN’s Defense Impact Metric for team defenses, while their offense came in at a solid 7th place.
The glaring difference suggests that further improving their defense should be a priority before the 2026 NFL season begins. One option to do so could be to add NFL legend Von Miller, who recently expressed interest in going to Dallas by posting a picture of himself in a Cowboys uniform on his Instagram account.

Further fueling the rumors is a recent interview he gave to RJ Ochoa. Miller was asked whether he had ever thought about playing for the Cowboys, and his response clearly demonstrated his interest.

Miller is past his prime at this point in his career, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t provide an immediate upgrade to one of the worst defenses in the NFL from last season.

He was once one of the best overall edge rushers in the league, including being named an All-Pro in seven of his 10 seasons with the Denver Broncos. He helped them win a Super Bowl ring and also won a second with the Los Angeles Rams.
Since then, he has played for the Buffalo Bills and Washington Commanders, where he has totaled 23 sacks over the past four seasons, including 9 last year. This shows that he still has plenty of production left in the tank, despite being 37 years old.
He is also from Texas, which could play a role in his apparent interest in joining the Cowboys for their 2026 campaign.
If he were to sign, he would be seeking his third Super Bowl ring with his third different team. The Cowboys haven’t won one since 1995, so he could help their chances of ending a drought that spans more than three decades.
