Caitlin Clark has become quite the polarizing player in the midst of her third WNBA season.
The Indiana Fever star remains one of the league’s top players, but many believe she continues to be disrespected by her peers, with the latest example prompting disbelief.
Caitlin Clark Snubbed by Fellow Players in WNBA All-Star Voting
Famed sports journalist and author Christine Brennan has covered the Clark saga in detail. A recent tweet by Brennan showed the shocking way Clark was voted on by her colleagues in WNBA All-Star voting.
“Caitlin Clark is 2nd in the WNBA in assists per game and T-4th in points per game,” Brennan wrote. “A year ago, her fellow players ranked her as the 9th best guard in the league. This year, they dropped her to 11th. This really is one of the most interesting stories I’ve ever covered.”

All-Star voting includes results from fans, media, and players. The fans ranked Clark as the second-best guard, while the media had her third. Somehow, the players ranked her as the 11th-best guard in the league.
Clark is still voted in thanks to the fans and media, but the disparity is indeed shocking and creates the “interesting” story Brennan continues to monitor.
It’s important to note that the players didn’t rank her 11th overall, but rather the 11th-best among backcourt players. The only other major disparity on the list comes with Azzi Fudd, who the players had at 28th but the fans had fourth.
All-Star voting is not an exact science, but this does appear to be the latest snub directed at Clark. This comes just one week after she took a fist to the neck from the Phoenix Mercury’s Alyssa Thomas, which led to countless hot takes from all corners of the sports world.
Clark remains a top WNBA talent and is averaging a career-high 21.2 points per game so far this season. The biggest concern surrounding Clark remains her health after she appeared in only 13 contests last season.
When Clark steps on the floor, all eyes are on her. The WNBA All-Star Game takes place July 25 in Chicago, and fans will surely be tuning in to see how Clark is received by her fellow players on the floor.
