‘She Popped Off’ — WNBA World Reacts to Sparks Star Cameron Brink’s ‘Impressive’ Pregame Juggling Act

WNBA fans on X were impressed by Los Angeles forward Cameron Brink's juggling routine before the Sparks' loss to the Golden State Valkyries.

Los Angeles forward Cameron Brink only played 15 minutes in the Sparks’ 78-58 loss to the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center on Monday evening. Brink managed 10 points, two rebounds and one block on 80% shooting from the floor and 40% shooting from the charity stripe against the Valkyries.

WNBA Fans React to Cameron Brink’s Pre-Game Routine

Before the game against the Valkyries, AP Sports reporter Janie McCauley posted a clip on X of Brink juggling three balls during her warm-up.

“Cameron Brink’s pregame juggling act is impressive!!” McCauley posted.

WNBA fans were impressed by the forward’s dexterity in her warm-up routine.

‘Zavante’ sent a warning to Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young, who is also known for her ball juggling skills.

“JACKIE YOUNG, WE GOT COMPETITION,” Zavante wrote.

Sam Torres was also impressed by the forward’s pre-game routine and how it impacted her game.

“She popped off again tonight! They evening to start her!!!” Torres wrote.

Brink suffered an injury scare when she appeared to roll her ankle during the second half of the game, forcing her to leave the floor for the locker room. The forward did not return to the game after her exit.

The Sparks forward is averaging 9.2 points on 52% shooting from the floor, 35.5% from beyond the arc, 1.5 blocks, 1.2 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game this season.

Brink Optimistic About WNBA Adaptation

During her postgame news conference after the Sparks’ 88-83 victory over the Seattle Storm last week, Brink was optimistic about her adaptation to the WNBA after putting her injury woes behind her.

“I feel very comfortable; the staff makes me feel very confident. KP [Kelsey Plum] is always in my ear, just super supportive. My rookie year, I think I came in and I just wasn’t ready for this league,” Brink said. “And I believe everything happens for a reason. Getting hurt, I did learn a lot.

The Sparks forward was one of the premier defensive players in college basketball during her decorated career with the Stanford Cardinal, which started with a Pac-12 tournament title and national championship in 2021.

She subsequently won three Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year Awards, the WBCA Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2023 and the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2024.

Brink was one of the most hyped prospects in college basketball and was ultimately selected No. 2 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, just behind Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark, before her rookie year in the WNBA was cut short by a torn ACL.
