Joe Brady Reveals Where the Bills Stand on Stefon Diggs’ Comeback Rumors

Bills beat reporter Matt Parrino sat down with Brady for an in-depth interview this week, and the head coach didn’t hold back when asked about a possible reunion with Diggs.

“I love the way he plays and respect (him),” Brady said. “But I have so much confidence in this room right now. I loved where these guys were at. It is never-ending with Beane and our personnel (department), they’re always looking to find ways to improve our roster.”

“But the additions that we had with Skyler (Bell) and D.J. (Moore) and the growth of Josh and Keon and getting these other guys, like, I have so much confidence in it, and I’m excited about it,” Brady added. “And whoever we add to the room is only going to ever make it better. But I love where we’re at. I thought they had a really good offseason and were excited about the direction we’re going.”

The conversation around Diggs’ future comes after positive news on Friday, when it was confirmed he will not face an NFL suspension following the league’s review of allegations made by his former chef.  The NFL reportedly found insufficient evidence to prove a violation of its personal conduct policy.

The case stemmed from accusations by a former private chef, who alleged Diggs assaulted and strangled her. Diggs denied the claims, and the legal matter concluded in May. While the NFL does not require a criminal conviction to impose discipline, it ultimately determined there was not enough evidence to take action.

With the league closing the case, Diggs may be approached by several teams given his performance with the Patriots last season. He started 17 games in 2025, recording 85 catches for 1,013 yards and 4 touchdowns.

It marked his seventh 1,000-yard season in eight years, as he finished the season with an 87.0 impact score in the PFSN WR Impact Metric, ranking No. 4 in the league. He had signed a three-year, $63.5 million deal with the Patriots last offseason before being released.

The idea of a return to Buffalo has gained attention due to his past chemistry with Josh Allen, where Diggs quickly became the quarterback’s top target after arriving in 2020. Diggs himself added fuel to speculation by posting a video of himself wearing a Bills jersey.

However, as Brady said, bringing back Diggs would not be simple, given the current makeup of the team. There is also the history of his strained relationship with the Bills before his move to the Houston Texans, which remains a part of the broader discussion.
