Lamar Jackson’s Teammate Fires Back At Charles Omenihu’s Bold Comments On Ravens QB

Marlon Humphrey responds after Commanders defensive end Charles Omenihu said that the league has figured out Ravens QB Lamar Jackson.

Even though the Baltimore Ravens finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs in the 2025 NFL season, Lamar Jackson has consistently been one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

However, Washington Commanders defensive end Charles Omenihu feels differently about Jackson, which prompted a response from Jackson’s teammate, Marlon Humphrey.

Marlon Humphrey Defends Lamar Jackson

On the sports show “Speakeasy,” hosted by Emmanuel Acho and LeSean McCoy, Omenihu said the following about Jackson:

“With Lamar (Jackson), honestly, if you bring a five-man rush on him and collapse that pocket, he’s drifting backwards and, unfortunately, he might make a play that isn’t going to be the best play for the Ravens… Like I said, I think (the league) figured out Lamar. You come after him, you close all the lanes, you five-man rush him, and you cover his guys.”

He then compared Jackson to another quarterback on an AFC contender, Josh Allen:

“I don’t think the league has truly figured (Josh Allen) out,” Omenihu said. “With Josh, he’s going to drift backward and run around. He’s so hard to tackle, and he’s a large human being. Hard to get down (and) he can make every throw, bro. Every throw from no matter where he’s at. His arm strength is unbelievable. I don’t think Lamar has that big amount of arm strength, like how Josh does.”

Following the shade from Omenihu, longtime Ravens cornerback Humphrey responded with the following:

“How to get clout 101. Mention Lamar Jackson.”

Jackson has been subject to a lot of criticism over the years. It first started when he was coming out of the 2018 NFL Draft and was being compared to a running back; he shut down those comments after winning two Most Valuable Player awards. More recently, he’s been criticized for his playoff performances, with some saying he doesn’t perform the same way in the playoffs as he does in the regular season.

Regardless of the comments from NFL fans and Omenihu, Jackson has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league. In fact, here’s how he and Allen compare:

Since 2018, Jackson has been a four-time Pro Bowler, a three-time All-Pro, and a two-time MVP. In PFSN’s NFL Quarterback Impact Metric (QBi), Jackson has an average impact score of 84.8 since coming into the league, which equates to a grade of B.
