After finishing this past NFL season with an extremely underwhelming 6-11 record, the Kansas City Chiefs aim to bounce back and re-enter title contention in 2026. As the team continues to revamp its roster this offseason, a career 90-TD wide receiver has emerged as a potential target, a name Patrick Mahomes and company are very familiar with.
Chiefs Projected To Reunite With Super Bowl-Winning Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill
On Wednesday, April 8, PFSN analyst Alex Kennedy published an article outlining three landing spots for each of the top-12 remaining free agents. Future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, along with star wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Stefon Diggs, headlined the list.
Regarding Hill specifically, Kennedy wrote: “Tyreek Hill is an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his illustrious career after the Miami Dolphins released him. At 32 years old with declining numbers, a serious injury, and off-field issues complicating how teams perceive him, he is a risky player to sign to a multi-year contract.
“However, in the four games he played before getting hurt, Hill was on a 17-game pace for 1,127 receiving yards. In 2023, he was a first-team All-Pro and finished second in Offensive Player of the Year voting. A competing team could look to lure him on a one-year deal to see if he can get them over the hump.”
Kennedy listed the Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans, and, most notably, the Kansas City Chiefs as potential landing spots for the eight-time Pro Bowler.
The Chiefs’ offense, according to PFSN’s NFL Offense Impact metrics in 2025, recorded its worst finish in the Mahomes era (17th among all units), highlighting a desperate need for surrounding talent. Targeting Hill, however, would immediately solve the issue and help take the team’s passing attack to the next level.
After being selected in the fifth round, 165th overall, out of West Alabama, Hill spent the first six seasons of his NFL career with the Chiefs. From 2016 to 2021, across 91 appearances, he totaled 479 receptions, 6,630 receiving yards, and 67 touchdowns. In total, his career total touchdowns stand at 90.

He was selected to the Pro Bowl in each of those six seasons and earned All-Pro honors three times. Hill was also named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame All-2010s Team and won his first and only Super Bowl with Kansas City in 2019-20.
As Kennedy noted, Hill is now on the wrong side of 30, and coming off a gruesome season-ending injury only adds to the concern. Still, if he can operate at 50% of what he once was in Kansas City, teaming back up with Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Andy Reid, and the rest of the Chiefs organization could set Hill up for a memorable farewell tour.
