Seattle Seahawks to Feature on ‘Hard Knocks’ Following Super Bowl Win

Fresh off their Super Bowl run, Seattle now steps into a different kind of spotlight where every rep, every meeting, and every roster battle will be documented. And if they ever thought of repeating their success in the next season, this would be interesting.

The news was first reported by Adam Schefter, who revealed that Seattle will lead this year’s edition, while the New England Patriots are lined up for 2027.

Schefter’s X post read: “The Seahawks will be featured on this summer’s Hard Knocks. The Patriots will be featured on the 2027 summer Hard Knocks. The two teams in this past season’s Super Bowl will take center stage again the next two summers.”

For Seattle, this marks a historic first. Not only is it their debut on the long-running series, but it’s also the first time since the Baltimore Ravens in 2001 that a defending Super Bowl champion will be featured.

More eyes are on them now. Maybe, just maybe, it means the defending champs are getting documented. And with that roster, it won’t be short on intrigue.

Under head coach Mike Macdonald, the Seahawks built their title run on a dominant defense, finishing third in PFSN’s Defense Impact Metric while anchoring one of the most disruptive units in football.

The offense, meanwhile, wasn’t always on the complementary levels of the defense, but it was effective, ranking ninth in PFSN’s Offensive Impact Metric. So, this gave Seattle the balance. That’s why there’s a belief that they have the unit to defend their title.

Now with “Hard Knocks,” the spotlight will naturally drift toward the offense as well. With Jaxon Smith-Njigba coming off an Offensive Player of the Year campaign and now tied to a record-setting extension, Seattle’s passing game has real star power. Pair that with veteran quarterback Sam Darnold, and there’s no shortage of storylines for the cameras to follow.

The bigger question, though, is sustainability. No team has managed back-to-back championships since the Kansas City Chiefs did so in 2022 and 2023, and before that, you have to go back to the Patriots’ early-2000s run. That’s the tier Seattle is now trying to enter.
