Odell Beckham Jr. Has ‘A Real Shot’ at Making NFL Return After 1-Year Absence

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reports Odell Beckham Jr. has a "real shot" at making a 2026 return and could sign with the Giants.

Odell Beckham Jr. is undoubtedly one of the most impressive wide receivers of his generation. However, the veteran didn’t play in the 2025 season, and last started a game back in 2023 for the Miami Dolphins. He was under a six-game suspension for a PED violation in 2025.

Beckham is still just 33, though, and could still have a little bit left in the tank. According to one NFL analyst, Beckham has a “real shot” at making a return, and there could be a perfect landing spot.

Why an NFL Insider Thinks Odell Beckham Jr. Could Return to the New York Giants

Beckham’s best seasons came with the New York Giants. The receiver played for the Giants from 2014 to 2018, was selected to three Pro Bowls, and is remembered for making one of the best catches in NFL history.

Beckham never made a Pro Bowl after leaving New York and was mostly just a complementary option. The receiver is still a beloved figure in New York, so would it be possible for him to return?

NFL insider Jordan Schultz not only believes Beckham could land a job for the 2026 season but also believes the Giants would be the perfect spot.

“There’s a real shot that Odell Beckham has a home going into the season,” Schultz explained. “I believe he can still be an NFL wide receiver, and I can’t think of a better story than the New York Giants, ending his career there.”

Schultz also noted that a return to the Giants would reunite Beckham with John Harbaugh. Harbaugh was the coach of the Baltimore Ravens when Beckham played for the team in 2023. In that season, Beckham earned a respectable 77.3 score in the PFSN NFL WR Impact metrics.

The Giants could certainly stand to add more talent at receiver. Malik Nabers is a star, but behind him, it’s mostly unreliable veterans and young guys.

In 2024, Beckham played for the Miami Dolphins and appeared in 9 games. The receiver ended with just nine catches for 55 yards and hasn’t seen an NFL field since.

Does Beckham Have One More Season in Him?

It’s hard enough to stick in the NFL at 33 years old, but even harder when you are one year removed from playing. Beckham reportedly stays in NFL shape, though, and has had plenty of time to get healthy.

In total, Beckham has had five seasons of 1,000+ yards in his career. The receiver didn’t play in 2022 or 2025, so while he was great in the past, it would still be an unlikely comeback story.

As mentioned above, the Giants do seem like the best option. It would be fitting for the receiver to end his career in the same place he started it.
