Moore was not the only one who posted emotions online, as his post also drew responses from teammates who had shared the locker room with him. Wide receiver Odunze commented, “Much love fam,” acknowledging the bond the two built while playing together.

Why the Chicago Bears Traded Moore and What the Move Means for Buffalo
The move may seem bold, as giving away a veteran isn’t easy, but it reflects Chicago’s shifting roster priorities. The Bears bid adieu to Moore and a 2026 fifth-round pick to Buffalo in exchange for a 2026 second-round selection, a move that frees financial flexibility and creates additional opportunities to build around their young offensive core.
For Moore, the Bears were a home he was always eyeing, and he originally arrived in Chicago in 2023 as part of the blockbuster deal that sent the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers.
And, he made sure to make a statement after joining as he immediately became the team’s top receiving option, recording a career-best performance in the 2023 season with 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns in his first season. However, the offensive landscape shifted again in 2025 with the emergence of several younger playmakers.
Wide receivers Odunze and Luther Burden III, along with tight end Loveland, developed into key pieces of the passing attack. As those players took on larger roles, Moore’s production dipped to 50 catches for 682 yards and 6 touchdowns during the 2025 regular NFL season.
For Buffalo, the move brings in an experienced receiver with a proven track record who could become a valuable target for quarterback Josh Allen as the Bills pursue a deeper playoff run.
