Maxx Crosby’s name continues to surface in trade speculation as the NFL offseason progresses. Several contenders are already being discussed as potential suitors, and one NFL insider recently outlined three teams that could make sense if the Las Vegas Raiders decide to move their star pass rusher.
Tom Pelissero Connects Maxx Crosby to Bears, Bills, and Cowboys
During an appearance on the “Rich Eisen Show,” NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero emphasized how rare it is for a player of Crosby’s caliber to become available.
“An elite type of pass rusher. Those guys just don’t hit the market,” Pelissero said before identifying potential fits. “If I’m thinking, who would be the teams that would make sense for Maxx Crosby? Again, I think anybody who’s a contender and has sufficient cap space or the ability to create it should be involved.”

Pelissero first mentioned the Chicago Bears, referencing their previous blockbuster deal with Las Vegas for Khalil Mack and suggesting Crosby could be the type of addition that elevates them after a playoff push.
Buffalo also surfaced as a potential destination. Pelissero noted the Bills would need to navigate their cap situation but pointed to their history of pursuing premier edge rushers in search of a defensive closer.
The Dallas Cowboys generated perhaps the most intrigue. Pelissero said the pairing makes sense, citing Crosby’s ties to the area and his offseason training connection with Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb. He also pointed to Dallas’ flexibility and draft capital.
“The Cowboys have ammunition,” Pelissero said. “They don’t have any day two picks this year, but they got two first-rounders. They’ve got enough cash and cap flexibility. Jerry Jones has indicated they’re going to be aggressive.”
The on-field case is clear. Dallas ranked last in PFSN’s Defensive Impact Score last season. Crosby ranked second in PFSN’s EDGE Impact Metric and remains one of the league’s most disruptive pass rushers. He is under contract for roughly $30 million per year over the next two seasons, meaning any trade would require both draft capital and financial commitment.
That aligns with previous PFSN analysis, which listed Dallas among Crosby’s top potential landing spots after moving on from Micah Parsons before the 2025 season. Armed with two first-round picks from that deal, the Cowboys have the assets to compete if Las Vegas entertains serious offers.
The price remains the major variable. Pelissero questioned whether the Raiders would accept a first-round pick and additional compensation or hold firm in pursuit of two first-round selections. Timing could also influence leverage before teams address pass rush needs once free agency opens.
Crosby remains under contract in Las Vegas, but if trade discussions escalate, Chicago, Buffalo, and Dallas are three contenders Pelissero believes should call the Raiders.
