Serena Williams’ father, Alexis Ohanian, is never shy about celebrating his role as a father. Over the weekend, the Reddit co-founder shared a candid series of moments featuring his daughters, Olympia and Adira, offering followers a warm, unfiltered look at life in the Ohanian household.
Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian Shares Playful Moments With Daughters
Ohanian’s journey into fatherhood began in 2017 when he and his wife, tennis icon Williams, welcomed their first daughter, Olympia Ohanian Jr. The couple, who first met in 2015 and married in a high-profile ceremony in New Orleans in 2017, expanded their family again in August 2023 with the birth of their second daughter, Adira River Ohanian.
Since becoming a father, Ohanian has frequently spoken about how parenthood reshaped his priorities and perspective. He often credits his daughters for motivating him to advocate for paid family leave and to be more intentional about balancing work and home life.
In his most recent Instagram post, Ohanian compiled what he described as a weekend snapshot of family time. The first image showed him playing with baby Adira. He then shared a clip highlighting Olympia’s progress with her golf swing, proudly showing how much she has improved.
The lighthearted tone shifted to playful suspense in another video, where Ohanian documented himself cooking steak for his daughters and anxiously waiting for their verdict. When the verdict came back positive, he celebrated with visible relief, declaring that he had nailed it.

In June last year, Ohanian also urged parents to keep their children off social media, warning that many platforms promote unrealistic and performative content. In a social media post, he called banning social media one of the most effective parenting decisions.
“There is no one way to parent. But since you asked how I’m doing that, the answer is very simple. No social media. I’m not surprised by seeing a lot of governments now moving to ban social media use for pre-teens and teens,” Ohanian said.
The 42-year-old argued that if families collectively stayed offline, it would reduce peer pressure and ease FOMO, helping children, especially girls, develop healthier self-esteem.
“If everyone agrees to not be on social media, you don’t create that peer pressure, you don’t have that specter of FOMO (fear of missing out). And I think our kids, especially our daughters, end up having much healthier relationships. I do think it’s really important that we arm our kids with an understanding of just how fake and performative most of social media is,” he added.
Ohanian added that parents must teach kids how curated and artificial much of social media really is, criticizing the culture of chasing likes and followers as harmful to their well-being.
