Stefon Diggs’ Performance in Super Bowl 60

This is what the Patriots paid Diggs for. He’s used to big playoff games throughout his career. He is the 4th-ranked receiver in PFSN’s WR Impact Metric with an impact score of 87.0.

At the end of the first quarter, Diggs had no receptions as the Patriots trailed 3-0. The star receiver is not hurt, but has yet to make an impact in the game.

Diggs made his first and only catch in the second quarter. It was a 5-yard reception, and that was his only catch of the game at the time. The Patriots’ offense has been stymied by the elite Seattle defense. Drake Maye has had very little time to throw in this one, as the Seahawks offense has gotten home with ease.

Diggs finished the game with three receptions for 37 yards on three targets as the Patriots lost 29-13. Rookie Will Campbell struggled, so Maye had no time to get the ball to his receivers. Diggs simply wasn’t able to make an impact.

Diggs also had some confrontations with Seahawks players during the Super Bowl after they provoked him, and the Patriots star’s frustration led to heated moments.

Despite the Super Bowl loss, Diggs expressed his desire to play for the Patriots next season. He still has two years left on his contract, and New England would love to have him back.

The 32-year-old wideout signed a three-year, $63.5 million deal last season, and played exceptionally well in his first year back from ACL injury. The Patriots will hope that a healthy offseason will help Diggs get even better next season and create more chemistry with Maye. Hopefully, the Patriots will add some more playmakers to the team either through the draft or free agency.
