The Los Angeles Rams are facing the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship, and it’s been a heated battle so far. In addition, a reason why Adams may be having a slow start is the defense they are facing. This season, according to PFSN’s Defensive Impact Metric, the Seahawks are ranked #3 overall and 2nd in red zone defense.
They are a very dynamic defense that can easily stop teams from scoring, but they are also great at stopping big plays. This season, Seattle ranks 1st (1.48 yards!) in yards per play. Defensive success like this changes outcomes of games, and it can also stop a WR like Adams from having big days.
It will be difficult to force Adams into the game and get him the ball, but he may be the perfect WR to rely on. Yes, Nacua is the top option, but the Seahawks will give him heavy attention throughout the game. So, that leaves Adams as an option that may have a better chance of being open or making the big play, even though Seattle is good at stopping that.
