The NFL season has hit the home stretch. As the league gears up for Christmas games and Saturday showcases, Thursday Night Football has become an appetizer for meaningful winter football.
In Week 16, the football world will be treated to the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks playing their second matchup of the season. In Los Angeles back in Week 11, the Rams won 21-19, forcing four Sam Darnold interceptions.
Who Is Calling the Rams-Seahawks Game on Thursday Night Football?
A win in Thursday’s rematch would put Los Angeles in pole position for a division title and the top seed in the NFC. Seattle, though, has aspirations of its own and won’t have to deal with receiver Davante Adams, who is listed as doubtful.
Week 16 action will begin with Thursday Night Football on Prime Video. The game is only available on streaming, although Amazon also offers a Spanish broadcast and Prime Vision for those looking for more analytics.
As usual, the legendary Al Michaels will be the play-by-play announcer. The 81-year-old brings decades of experience and a flavor that fans have grown familiar with over two decades of Sunday Night Football.
Michaels also seems to do well with sports bettors, offering the occasional quip when a touchdown or field goal allows the “over” to hit successfully.
College football icon Kirk Herbstreit will be joining him in the booth as the color commentator. The duo has been together for Thursday Night Football games since 2022, and fans have watched their chemistry develop year over year.

Herbstreit’s proximity to college football gives him an edge when calling younger players, many of whom recently flashed on the college games he has called for ESPN. He’s been pulling double duty, calling Thursday Night Football games for Amazon before appearing on “College GameDay” and premier college games.
On the sideline, Kaylee Hartung has brought consistent energy and information to the broadcast. She has worked with Michaels on NBC’s Wild Card Weekend coverage and is a regular on the network’s playoff coverage.
Hartung also has journalistic experience outside of the NFL, working college games and taking on roles at CBS News, ABC News, and CNN.
The trio will have the privilege of calling Seattle’s third-ranked defense, by PFSN’s Defense Impact metric, against Los Angeles’ top-ranked offense. With playoff aspirations on the line and no shortage of star power, the penultimate Thursday Night Football contest is shaping up to be one of the season’s best.
