Boise State vs. Washington Prediction

Both teams enter the Bucked Up LA Bowl with productive offenses, but their strengths come in different ways.

Boise State leans heavily on its run game, led by standout running back Sire Gaines and Dylan Riley. Quarterback Maddux Madsen has also contributed immensely to the Broncos’ offense by throwing 2,283 yards and 18 touchdowns, while adding four rushing touchdowns.

Washington operates with a more balanced approach. Quarterback Demond Williams Jr. has thrown 2,850 yards and 21 touchdowns, and six rushing touchdowns. He has a strong supporting offense in running back Jonah Coleman and wide receivers Denzel Boston and Dezmen Roebuck. The offense utilizes both ground attack and its wide receivers to stretch the defense.

One major difference between the teams is the strength of their respective schedules. Washington competed in the Big Ten, facing multiple teams that would later qualify for the playoffs. Three of their four losses came to teams finishing in the top 20: Ohio State, Michigan, and Oregon. Boise State’s toughest matchups were against South Florida and Notre Dame, where they fell short.

Boise State has shown consistency this season, but Washington should take the edge because their roster has been tested by a more competitive Big Ten schedule and has shown consistency on both sides of the ball.

Prediction: Boise State 21, Washington 31
