The Baltimore Ravens began the 2025 season in a manner that was as severe as possible. Star quarterback Lamar Jackson missed some time due to injury, and the Ravens went 1-5 through their first six games.
However, since then, the Ravens have won five of their last six games and are now tied for first place in the AFC North with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s clear that this offense needs at least one more dynamic playmaker, though, and the team could be inclined to make a bold move in the offseason.
Could Justin Jefferson Land With the Ravens?
The Ravens desperately need to add weapons for Jackson. Zay Flowers has been a quality receiver, but he’s a speedy slot receiver, not a big-bodied possession receiver.
As a result, the Ravens could look to the trade market this offseason to give Flowers a capable running mate.
PFSN’s own Jacob Infante recently identified some realistic landing spots for star receiver Justin Jefferson. Jefferson has endured some horrific quarterback play in Minnesota this season, and his numbers have slipped as a result.
It’s possible Jefferson could grow tired of playing in Minnesota and try to force his way to a contender after the 2025 season.
Regarding Jefferson’s potential fit in Baltimore, Infante offered the following:
“But what if the Ravens go for something a little bolder? At 6-6, they’re in the midst of a down season and haven’t seen the same explosiveness out of their offense that they’re used to.”
“Part of that comes down to Jackson dealing with injuries, but their receiver room is thin: other than Zay Flowers, they don’t have a single receiver in the top 80 in WRi grading. Defending an offense with Jefferson, Flowers, Jackson, and Derrick Henry would be an absolute nightmare for opposing teams.”
As Infante mentioned, the Ravens’ offense has not been anywhere near as explosive in 2025 as it was in 2024.
PFSN’s Offense Impact ranking gave the Ravens’ unit an elite 90.2 grade in 2024, which was second in the NFL. The same ranking gives the Ravens a 69.5 grade in 2025, which ranks them 25th overall.
In 2025, Jefferson had 62 catches for 799 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games. Unfortunately for Jefferson, he’s had to deal with three different starting quarterbacks, and the Vikings’ offense has been among the league’s worst as a result.
Jefferson has three years left in his four-year, $140 million contract extension he signed in 2024. He’s the second-highest paid wide receiver in the NFL, but his addition could be the move that finally puts the Ravens over the edge.
