What Is the Asking Price for Jakobi Meyers?

According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, multiple teams have shown interest in trading for Meyers, but there’s been a catch. “Sources: Multiple teams have shown interest in trading for #Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers, who’s in the final year of his contract and has publicly said he still wants to be traded,” Schultz reported. “However, teams have had a hard time getting a clear read on whether Las Vegas is truly willing to move him. The belief is it would take at least a Day 2 pick for the Raiders to even consider it.”

So far this season, Meyers has caught 29 passes for 329 yards but has not found the end zone. The receiver has also publicly requested a trade, making his desires known. “[The Raiders] know how I feel,” Meyers said Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “It’s no reason for me to keep going back crying to them, ‘Can you get me out of here?'”

“If you move me, you move me. But in the meantime, I got some [teammates] that I care about next to me, so I’m trying to make sure I’m being my best self for them,” Meyers added.

PFSN’s Josh Weil also discussed Meyers as a trade candidate, noting, “When will this seemingly endless saga between Jakobi Meyers and the Raiders end? It seems increasingly likely that Meyers will be wearing a new uniform in short order…”

Weil also listed the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos as potential suitors for the receiver. His analysis suggests Meyers would be an excellent WR2 for a contending team. The Raiders have disappointed this season, starting with a 2-5 record. Their struggles are reflected in PFSN’s Offense Impact metric, where they rank third-lowest in the league at 62.7.

If Las Vegas deals Meyers, the team will turn to Tre Tucker, Jack Bech, and Dont’e Thornton as the primary wide receivers. This situation would put more pressure on quarterback Geno Smith, who is currently tied with Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for the league lead in interceptions with 10.
