Dez Bryant Throws Fuel On the Fire of Latest Massive Cowboys Trade Rumor

Despite it being fairly certain that a recent potential trade surrounding Vegas and the Dallas Cowboys isn't happening, Dez Bryant has chimed in.

As society has evolved, so have sports. Instead of simply being sports, they are also a business. Maxx Crosby is the latest NFL player to demonstrate that.

Crosby — a Las Vegas Raiders superstar — has become the latest subject of trade rumors. It was reported early on the morning of Oct. 21 that the Dallas Cowboys had made several inquiries to the Raiders surrounding a potential trade for the defensive end.

Former Dallas Cowboys Legend Does Not Hold Back on His Wish About Maxx Crosby Trade

However, the trade isn’t happening. That didn’t stop one former Cowboys icon from offering his thoughts on the trade. “I can’t wait until I get my Dallas Cowboys Maxx Crosby jersey,” Dez Bryant posted on X.

The original report of the trade came from renowned draft analyst Trey Wingo who made the connection for Crosby, reporting that the Cowboys have inquired what it would take to acquire the pass rusher’s services.

For those unfamiliar, Bryant was a former first-round selection for the Dallas franchise back in 2010. He played with the Cowboys until the end of the 2017 season and concluded his career with 7,506 receiving yards in addition to 75 touchdowns.

But despite his wishes for a Crosby jersey, it appears Bryant won’t be able to get one — since they won’t exist.

As Zachary Jacobson previously reported for PFSN, Crosby is currently signed to a three-year deal worth $106.5 million in March; $91.5 million of the contract was guaranteed. At the time, he was the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history.

The Raiders also are not in a spot where they’d want to get rid of Crosby. As reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Jane Slater, the Raiders’ leadership met with Crosby and assured him he won’t be traded.

A former 2019 fourth-round pick brought aboard when the Raiders were still in Oakland, Crosby has continued his development in the midst of Las Vegas having finished with double-digit wins in a season just once since and also having a mere one playoff appearance.

But Crosby is still tied for the team lead in sacks alongside defensive tackle Jonah Laulu and provides great pass-rushing services.

Crosby is a defenseman who ranks fifth alongside a PFSN EDGE Impact score of 90.3, while the Raiders rank near the bottom of PFSN Defense Impact. Only four teams have a worse score.

The bottom line is that the Raiders have insisted that Crosby is not available. And with the trade deadline being just two weeks away, hopefully for Las Vegas fans, that sentiment is to be taken at face value.
