Where Do The Two Teams Stand Heading Into MNF?

Week after week, the Lions are removing any doubts about them this season. With the loss of both coordinators, there was genuine concern about how the team would fare. A Week 1 blowout loss against the Packers further emphasized those questions.

However, the next four weeks went about as well as head coach Dan Campbell could have hoped for. They picked up dominant victories over the Bears, Ravens, Browns, and Bengals, ranking No. 1 in PFSN’s Week 6 Power Rankings.

However, the Lions lost to the Chiefs in primetime last Sunday. Jared Goff came away with a 79.3% completion percentage with 203 yards and two touchdowns, but the Lions’ lack of explosive plays on offense couldn’t overcome their porous defense against the Chiefs.

Meanwhile, Tampa Bay was off to a hot start to the season when they picked up three consecutive come-from-behind victories courtesy of Baker Mayfield’s magic. While they ran out of luck in Week 4 against the Eagles, the Buccaneers bounced back with an impressive road victory over the Seahawks in Week 5, with Mayfield throwing for 379 yards and two touchdowns.

Last week, the Buccaneers defeated the 49ers 30–19 to improve to 5–1 and will now look to continue their winning streak against the Lions on Monday Night Football.

Expect a close battle that could come down to the performances of Goff and Mayfield, who are ranked eighth and ninth, respectively, in PFSN’s QB Impact metric.
