Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season has concluded, and it’s starting to become clear which teams are contenders and which are pretenders. For some, their hot start has been aided by tremendous quarterback play. Other teams falling short of expectations may not have had the quarterback performances they’d desired to this point.
PFSN has you covered with your QB rankings for the 2025 season, as our QBi metric puts a numerical value on how each one performs every week. Note that these rankings only include the five games played this year, not any previous games. Some consensus top quarterbacks may rank lower than usual, while a few surprise names appear in the top ten. With Week 5 in the rearview mirror, let’s rank the top 37 quarterbacks in the NFL after another week of play.
37) Jake Browning, Cincinnati Bengals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 50.6 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 37
Added stats in garbage time help boost Jake Browning’s QBi grade a bit from Week 5 over to Week 6, but he still comes in as the lowest-grading player in our rankings. The three interceptions he threw in the Cincinnati Bengals’ loss to the Lions didn’t help his case, either.
Through his four games, Browning has six touchdowns and eight interceptions. He has the second-lowest EPA per dropback at -0.34, trailing only J.J. McCarthy. The Bengals’ porous defense, combined with his propensity to turn the ball over, isn’t a winning formula.
36) Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 52.6 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 36
The Tennessee Titans picked up their first win of the season on Sunday, and Cam Ward showed moxie in leading his team down the field in their comeback over the Cardinals. It wasn’t a perfect game, but it was progress for the rookie.
Inaccuracy continues to plague Ward, however. His 51.8% completion percentage is a major issue, and he’s thrown an interception in each of his last three games. It hasn’t been a very good rookie year for him, but the Titans’ win gives him something to hang his hat on.
35) Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 54.2 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 34
Dillon Gabriel took the start for the Cleveland Browns in Week 5, so Joe Flacco’s QBi grade doesn’t change. He remains in the rankings due to a higher sample size than Gabriel, who isn’t qualified for this list yet.

34) J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 53.9 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 35
J.J. McCarthy missed Week 5 due to an ankle sprain. His QBi grade doesn’t change this week.
33) Jaxson Dart, New York Giants
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 57.6 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: N/R
Jaxson Dart has a large enough sample size to crack the list, replacing Joe Burrow’s spot in the rankings. Unfortunately for Dart, he doesn’t rank all that high in his QBi debut.
With 109 rushing yards in his last two games, Dart has shown he’s a dual-threat passer. He threw touchdown passes in the New York Giants’ loss to the Saints on Sunday, but he also threw two interceptions. His team put a bigger workload on him than in their Week 4 win over the Chargers, but it didn’t pay off this time.
32) Tyrod Taylor, New York Jets
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 58.6 (F)
Last Week’s Ranking: 32
With the return of Justin Fields to the New York Jets’ lineup, Tyrod Taylor remains in the same place in PFSN’s QBi rankings.
31) Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 63.3 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 31
The Carolina Panthers picked up their second win of the season in a shootout with the Dolphins on Sunday. Bryce Young threw a pick in the game, but he also scored two touchdowns and complemented a stellar run game well with big plays here and there.
Young is still in the bottom ten league-wide in net yards per attempt and EPA per dropback, so there’s still plenty of room for him to improve. Continued dominance in the run game from the Panthers would make his life a lot easier as he looks to leap in Year 3 of his NFL career.
30) Russell Wilson, New York Giants
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 64.3 (D)
Last Week’s Ranking: 30
Russell Wilson got benched in favor of rookie Jaxson Dart for the New York Giants’ Week 5 matchup, and head coach Brian Daboll says that will remain the case for the rest of the season.
29) Spencer Rattler, New Orleans Saints
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 69.3 (D+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 28
In Week 5, the New Orleans Saints picked up their first win of the 2025 season, toppling the Giants 26-14 at home. Spencer Rattler played a clean game, throwing for 225 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in his first win as an NFL starting quarterback.
Oddly enough, Rattler is only 31st in EPA per dropback in a clean pocket, but he’s eighth in EPA per dropback under pressure. He’s hardly an outstanding starting QB, but he has performed reasonably well, considering what little he has to work with in New Orleans.
28) Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 71.1 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 27
The Jacksonville Jaguars are off to a great start this season, improving to 4-1 after defeating the Chiefs on Monday night. Trevor Lawrence contributed in a unique way, throwing for one touchdown pass but also rushing for two scores, adding 54 yards on ten carries in the process.
Turnovers have been a problem for Lawrence, as he has five interceptions to six passing touchdowns thus far. Averaging an interception per game isn’t a recipe for long-term success in the NFL, but luckily for him, the Jaguars are putting together a strong team around him.
27) Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 72.3 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 31
Jayden Daniels returned from injury on Sunday, which resulted in the Washington Commanders picking up the win on the road over the Chargers. Marcus Mariota had left him a pretty high bar to return to, and while Daniels was shaky before getting hurt, he looked solid in Week 5.
Though he finished with only a 57.7% completion percentage on Sunday, Daniels still had 231 passing yards and a touchdown. His smaller sample size makes it tough for him to make a big leap from one week to the next, but he climbs a few spots in the QBi rankings this week.
26) Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 72.5 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 25
The Pittsburgh Steelers were on their bye week in Week 5, so Aaron Rodgers’ QBi grade doesn’t change. Despite his team’s success on the field, he hasn’t particularly been the biggest reason for their wins. His ceiling at his age is somewhat capped, but we’ll see if he can bounce back for a stronger ranking in the coming weeks.
25) Geno Smith, Las Vegas Raiders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 72.5 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 24
It’s been a couple of weeks to forget for Geno Smith, as he’s thrown for nine interceptions in just five games with a 1-4 record as the Las Vegas Raiders’ starting quarterback. It says a lot about his season when he’s coming off a two-interception performance in Week 5 and only has room to drop one spot in the QBi rankings.
💎#RaiderNation WATCH 👀: All of Geno Smith’s INTs from the 2024 season. The same formula in 2025:
📍Throwing into double coverage
📍Staring down your WRs
📍Tipped balls
📍Holding on to the ball & making erratic throws/not throwing it away
📍Risky darts into tight windows pic.twitter.com/kFGtdLReDO
— SniperJones🏴☠️🎙🇨🇴 (@iAmSniperJones) October 6, 2025
Of the quarterbacks who have started every week thus far, Smith is just one of five with a negative EPA per dropback average. He fares well on third down with a 42.3% conversion rate, but his lack of ball security hurts his ranking significantly.
24) C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 72.6 (C-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 29
C.J. Stroud has strung together two good games in a row now, having combined for six touchdowns and no interceptions in that stretch. On Sunday, he led the Houston Texans to a blowout win over the Ravens with 244 passing yards, an 85.2% completion rate, four touchdowns, and no interceptions.
It was a slow start to the season for Stroud, which is clear considering his dominance against Baltimore still isn’t enough to get him into the top 20. But with 70 points combined over the last two weeks, things seem to be turning around for him and the entire Texans offense, too.
23) Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 74.8 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 23
It’s tough to really blame the Arizona Cardinals’ loss to the Titans on Kyler Murray. While he wasn’t fantastic enough to elevate them in the matchup, it’s not his fault that the team around him made several costly mistakes. He finished the game with a rushing touchdown and 220 passing yards.
With 5.3 net yards per attempt, Murray is near that metric’s bottom. He still has a positive EPA per dropback average and a respectable 68.3% completion percentage.
22) Michael Penix Jr., Atlanta Falcons
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 75.0 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 22
The Atlanta Falcons were on their bye week in Week 5, so Michael Penix Jr.’s QBi grade doesn’t change. He’s had a generally inconsistent season so far, so time will tell how he fares out of the bye.
21) Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 75.9 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 17
The Los Angeles Chargers have lost their last two games, and they’re averaging only 14 points per game in those two losses. Many other factors contribute to their cold streak, but Justin Herbert has taken a step back from his strong start to 2025.
In his last three games, Herbert has thrown three touchdown passes and four interceptions. He got his completion percentage up to 75.9% in Week 5 after consecutive games below 60%, but he finishes middle of the pack in practically every analytical category PFSN has for quarterbacks.
20) Justin Fields, New York Jets
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 76.5 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 11
It’s not easy to lead your team to victory when your defense gives up 37 points, so it’s no surprise Justin Fields couldn’t corral the New York Jets to beat the Cowboys on Sunday. Having returned from injury, we’re seeing the same inconsistent QB we saw during his stints with the Steelers and Bears.
Justin Fields is 29 of 44 for 248 yards with 3 TD and 0 INTs passing in the fourth quarter of games this season. That’s 32% of his yards and 75% of his TDs (all but one).
– 16/22, 132, 2 TD yesterday
– 9/13, 116, TD vs Dolphins
– 0/2 vs Bills (injured)
– 4/7, 45 yards vs Pitt…— Connor Hughes (@Connor_J_Hughes) October 6, 2025
At first glance, Fields has seven touchdowns and no interceptions. That seems like a pretty good stat line! However, most of his production has come in garbage time, and his slow starts to games have been affecting the Jets’ chances of winning.
19) Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 76.5 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 15
Good news for fans of Jalen Hurts: The Philadelphia Eagles finally let him take on a high volume of passes on Sunday. Bad news for fans of Jalen Hurts: he only completed 60.5% of his attempts, he got sacked six times, and the Eagles lost their first game of the season.
Hurts is the highest-ranking QB on this list with a negative EPA per dropback. A lot of what keeps him high is the lack of an interception through five starts, as well as his 11 total touchdowns. He’s been an effective game manager with an added rushing element for the Eagles this year, but he hasn’t needed to be more than that much.
18) Bo Nix, Denver Broncos
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 76.9 (C)
Last Week’s Ranking: 16
Bo Nix, like most of the roster, got off to a slow start in the Denver Broncos’ game against the Eagles in Week 5. However, a strong fourth quarter saw them score 18 unanswered points to come from behind and pick up the upset win in Philadelphia.
Through five games, Nix has been perpetually average. He doesn’t rank in the bottom ten of any of PFSN’s analytical categories for a quarterback, outside of EPA per rush. That said, he doesn’t rank in the top ten for any particular metric, either. His 0.08 EPA per dropback ranks 19th in the NFL currently.
17) Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 78.1 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 18
It’s been an odd start to the year for the Kansas City Chiefs, as they find themselves at 2-3 coming out of Week 5 but still have plenty of reason for optimism. Patrick Mahomes hasn’t been his typical dynamic self to start the 2025 season, but he hasn’t particularly been bad, either.
Mahomes completed 70.7% of his passes against the Jaguars on Monday night, which is his highest single-game percentage in 2025 to date. He also threw for 318 yards and a touchdown while running for 60 yards and a touchdown. If he continues to improve on his connection with his receivers like he did in Week 5, he should be able to climb these rankings.
16) Carson Wentz, Minnesota Vikings
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 78.7 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 19
It wasn’t a pretty win, but Carson Wentz led the Minnesota Vikings into London on Sunday for a 21-17 victory over the Browns. He finished the game with a 73.5% completion percentage, 236 passing yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions.
To start the 2025 season, the Vikings’ offense has fared much better with Wentz under center than with J.J. McCarthy. That’s not to say Wentz has been impressive, but he’s 15th in EPA per dropback, while McCarthy is dead last at 37th. The veteran doesn’t elevate an offense, but he plays the game manager role well enough at this stage in his career.
15) Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 79.1 (C+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 14
The Chicago Bears were on their bye week in Week 5, so Caleb Williams’ QBi grade doesn’t change. His second season in the NFL has had its ups and downs, but he’s generally been better in 2025 than in 2024. If he continues his current rate of development, he could end up as the franchise QB Chicago has been craving for years.
14) Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 80.7 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 13
Tua Tagovailoa deserves a lot of credit for how he performed on Sunday. Against the Panthers, he threw three touchdowns with 256 passing yards, no interceptions, and a 75.0% completion percentage. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the Miami Dolphins to pick up the win.
After a tough start to the year, Tagovailoa has evened out in his last two games. He’s thrown a combined five touchdowns with no interceptions, completing over 72% of his attempts in that span. Unfortunately for him, so much else is going wrong in Miami around him that his play seems to be overshadowed.
13) Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 81.4 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 21
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers came out on the winning end of an offensive shootout against the Seahawks on Sunday, and Baker Mayfield played a significant role in that explosiveness. He threw for 379 passing yards in Week 5, throwing just four incompletions on 33 passes.
Heading into MNF, Mayfield ranks fourth in the NFL in passing yards and has ten touchdowns to just one interception. With 0.15 EPA per dropback under pressure, he’s been the second-best QB in the league under duress to start the year. His accuracy has been hit or miss this year, but he was on point with his passes against Seattle.
12) Mac Jones, San Francisco 49ers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 82.1 (B-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 12
The San Francisco 49ers needed Mac Jones to step back into the starting lineup on Thursday night with Brock Purdy’s inconsistent recovery from injury. Luckily for them, Jones has been an extremely efficient backup option, and he helped lead them to a win over the Rams.
In three starts, Jones is averaging over 300 passing yards per game with six touchdowns to just one interception. He’s outperforming Purdy in terms of EPA per dropback, completion percentage, and EPA under pressure so far this year.
11) Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 83.5 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 8
With Jayden Daniels returning to the Commanders’ starting lineup in Week 5, Marcus Mariota’s QBi grade doesn’t change. He moves down a few spots due to movement around him at the position.
10) Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 83.9 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 10
Though the Los Angeles Rams fell to the 49ers in overtime on Thursday night, it certainly wasn’t Matthew Stafford’s fault. Even at 37 years old, he threw for a whopping 389 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
Stafford leads the NFL with 1,503 passing yards through the first five weeks of the season. He also has 11 touchdowns to just two interceptions, with the former total ranking second in the league heading into MNF. Several more accurate quarterbacks have been this year, but few have shown his big-play ability.
9) Drake Maye, New England Patriots
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 85.3 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 7
He drops a couple of spots down the QBi rankings, but make no mistake about it: Drake Maye came out of Week 5 as a big winner. He won in the literal sense, as the New England Patriots upset the Bills on Sunday night. That night served as a huge coming-out party for him as he continues to build upon a strong Year 2 in the NFL.
Maye is tied for fourth in the NFL with 7.9 net yards per attempt, and he’s completed 73.9% of his passing attempts through the first five weeks of the season. He’ll be golden if he can find a way to cut down on how often he’s sacked.
8) Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 85.6 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 9
Despite the numerous injuries the Dallas Cowboys had to their offensive line in Week 5, Dak Prescott still went out and put together a clinic. He threw for 237 passing yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions, leading Dallas to a 37-22 win over the Jets.
Before MNF, Prescott ranks second in the league with 1,356 passing yards. He has the fourth-highest EPA per dropback under pressure through five weeks and sits at a stellar 71.3% completion percentage. His average EPA in a close game ranks fourth among all NFL QBs, too.
7) Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 86.6 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 5
Lamar Jackson missed Week 5 due to a hamstring injury, so he only falls two spots due to movement around him in the rankings. Considering the Baltimore Ravens only scored ten points against the Texans, his absence was surely felt on Sunday.
6) Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 86.9 (B)
Last Week’s Ranking: 6
The Detroit Lions continue to dominate on offense. Their 37-24 win over the Bengals on Sunday marked their fourth win in a row. It was also the fourth week in a row they’ve scored more than 30 points in a game, which speaks to how reliable quarterback Jared Goff has been.
With 0.31 EPA per dropback, Goff is tied for the NFL’s lead with Marcus Mariota, who has reached that average on a smaller sample size as a backup. He leads the league with 12 passing touchdowns and has the second-highest EPA per dropback in a clean pocket, trailing only Jordan Love.
5) Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 88.2 (B+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 4
The Green Bay Packers were on their bye week in Week 5, so Jordan Love’s QBi grade doesn’t change. He slips down one spot due to movement around him, but he’s having a tremendous 2025 season thus far. If he can eliminate the one or two boneheaded decisions he tends to make each week, he’ll end the year among the NFL’s elite quarterbacks.

4) Sam Darnold, Seattle Seahawks
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 88.3 (B+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 20
Sam Darnold is the biggest riser up the boards from Week 4 to Week 5, who shoots into the top five in QBi grading after a stellar performance against the Buccaneers on Sunday. Even though his Seattle Seahawks didn’t pick up the win, he was automatic, throwing the ball all afternoon.
The #Bucs–#Seahawks game on Sunday was the first in NFL history where both QBs threw for 325+ yards and completed 80% or more of their passes.
• Baker Mayfield: 29/33 (87.9%) for 379 yds
• Sam Darnold: 28/34 (82.4%) for 341 yds
The former #1 & #3 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. https://t.co/NaJxezkneS pic.twitter.com/GRNb09loxp
— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) October 6, 2025
After Week 5, Darnold ranks fourth in EPA per dropback with 0.28. His 9.0 net yards per attempt currently lead the NFL, and his 114.8 passer rating trails only Lamar Jackson and Jared Goff.
3) Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 89.1 (B+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 3
Due to his turf toe injury that’s been affecting him throughout the season, Brock Purdy missed the 49ers’ Week 5 matchup.
2) Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 90.3 (A-)
Last Week’s Ranking: 2
The Buffalo Bills may have gotten upset on Sunday night when they lost to the Patriots. But that was hardly a major indictment against Josh Allen, who remains one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks. Though he threw an interception, he also had two touchdowns, completed 71.0% of his passing attempts, and added 53 rushing yards on nine carries.
Through five weeks, Allen ranks in the top five in EPA per dropback, average EPA in a close game, EPA under pressure, passer rating, and total scrimmage touchdowns. He’ll be just fine coming out of the loss to New England, and the rest of the Bills should be, too.
1) Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
2025 PFSN QBi Grade: 97.5 (A+)
Last Week’s Ranking: 1
The legend of Indiana Jones only continues to grow as weeks progress. Daniel Jones remains in first place in PFSN’s QBi grading, making this the third week in a row he has placed at the top. It’s no wonder he still grades this high after Week 5, considering the Indianapolis Colts beat the Raiders 40-6 on Sunday.
Among other categories, Jones is in the top five in passing yards, EPA per dropback, third-down conversion rate, net yards per attempt, EPA per rush, and EPA per dropback under pressure. Should he sustain his 97.5 QBi grade for a full season, it would be the fourth-highest grade in league history.
