Recently, Naomi Osaka revealed the one thing she had kept hidden following her semifinals loss at the 2025 US Open. Throughout the Grand Slam tournament, the former World No. 1 had showcased various bedazzled labubu dolls. However, Osaka could not reveal her final doll due to her exit from the competition, losing to eventual runner-up Amanda Anisimova.
What Was the One Thing Naomi Osaka Was Unable To Show Due to Her US Open 2025 SF Exit?
During her first-round match at the 2025 US Open, Osaka entered the court with sparkly red roses braided in her hair, glittery red headphones, and a jacket completed with red crystals. She also carried a customized red labubu doll attached to her bag, which was decorated with red and gold crystals.
In the following matches, the two-time US Open champion carried various other labubu dolls, each with its own nickname. The Billie Jean King-inspired doll was nicknamed “Billie Jean Bling” and “LaBillieBu” by her. Althea Gibson’s labubu was named “Althea Glitterson,” Arthur Ashe’s was called “Arthur Flashe,” and Andre Agassi’s was named “Andre Swagassi.”
After her semifinal loss, Osaka expressed her disappointment during a press conference about not being able to present her final labubu doll, which was inspired by her and her dress from the 2024 US Open.
“I wanted to make one of myself in last year’s outfit, and it was the green one. It would have had the bow, and I’m sick about it. Oh, my God, that’s, like, the worst thing. Honestly, I’m fine losing, but don’t ask me about this Labubu, man. Yeah, it would have been me,” Osaka had said.
Recently, Osaka took to social media to share a video of herself finally showing off a green bedazzled labubu, her “very last” doll that she had wanted to present at the US Open.
“Allow me to finally introduce the very last labubu…” Osaka captioned her Instagram post.

On the tennis side of things, Osaka last competed at the 2025 China Open, where she was seeded 12th. She began her campaign in the second round and lost 6-1, 4-6, 2-6 to qualifier Aliaksandra Sasnovich.
Following the conclusion of her campaign at the 2025 China Open, Osaka will compete at the 2025 Wuhan Open, which will take place from October 6 to October 12, 2025. The tournament will be played on outdoor hard courts at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center in Wuhan, China.
Osaka is seeded 11th at the WTA 1000 hard court tournament and will begin her tournament by facing Leylah Fernandez in the first round. The two have faced each other only once on the WTA Tour, during the third round of the 2021 US Open, where the Canadian got the best of Osaka 5-7, 7-6(2), 6-4.
The winner of the first round match between Osaka and Fernandez at the 2025 Wuhan Open will advance to face either Linda Nosková or qualifier Yulia Putintseva.
