Washington Commanders Wide Receiver Depth Chart

As previously mentioned, Washington will be without the following wide receivers for its Week 7 game against the Cowboys on Sunday, October 19: Deebo Samuel, Noah Brown, and Terry McLaurin.

With so many pass catchers out, here’s who QB Jayden Daniels or backup Marcus Mariota will have to throw to on Sunday.

1. Jaylin Lane

Jaylin Lane is a 23-year-old wide receiver out of Virginia Tech. He was recently drafted by Washington in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The 5’10”, 196-pound player has seen action in all six games so far but has only recorded seven receptions for 82 yards.

2. Luke McCaffrey

Unlike Lane, wideout Luke McCaffrey is in his second year on the Washington roster. So far this season, in six games, he has recorded eight receptions for 179 yards and three touchdowns on 10 targets.

McCaffrey was drafted in 2024 out of playing for the Rice Owls, in which he led the American Athletic Conference and tied for seventh nationally with a career-high 12 touchdown receptions.

3. Chris Moore

The most seasoned out of all three of these wide receivers, Chris Moore has played for the Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, and Tennessee Titans before ending up on the Commanders in 2025. He has 1,815 receiving yards in his career so far, in addition to catching eight touchdowns.

Moore has now caught six of 12 targets for 105 yards and a touchdown in five appearances this season.

Commanders WRs Injury Updates

Samuel is dealing with a heel injury and, on Saturday, was ruled out of the Week 7 game against the Cowboys. Through the first month of the season, Samuel has been exactly what Washington hoped for, a dynamic playmaker.

He’s already recorded 22 receptions for 204 yards and two touchdowns through the air, along with seven carries for 46 yards and another score on the ground. His versatility makes him a constant problem for defenses and a reliable safety valve for his quarterback. Samuel’s production is hard to replace, and the Commanders will hope he’ll get back on the field soon.

McLaurin was diagnosed with a right quad injury and has since missed the team’s last three games. He was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice but appeared to take a step back on Thursday. On Friday, head coach Dan Quinn confirmed that McLaurin is officially out for the Week 7 matchup against the Cowboys.
