Michael Pittman Jr. Injury Update: What’s the Latest on the Colts WR, and Will He Play in Week 5?

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is dealing with a hamstring injury at this time. Here's the latest on his status.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. has been a steady target for Colts quarterback Daniel Jones through the first four games of the 2025 NFL season. The Colts are 3-1 entering their Week 5 game against the Las Vegas Raiders at home.

While Jones appears to have found new life in Indianapolis, he knows that Pittman plays a big role in that. Pittman, though, has been hampered by a hamstring injury.

What’s The Latest on Michael Pittman Jr.?

On Thursday, Pittman was limited in practice with the Colts. NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero said that Pittman’s issue was his hamstring. No one knows whether this will keep Pittman out of the Raiders game on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Pelissero posted on his X account, “The #Colts added WR Michael Pittman Jr. to the injury report. He was limited with a hamstring.”

However, on Friday, it was confirmed that despite his hamstring injury, Pittman Jr. will play in Week 5 against the Miami Dolphins.

Pittman has 21 catches for 234 yards and three touchdowns in four games. The USC product is in his sixth NFL season, all with Indianapolis. The Colts drafted him in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Through those six seasons, Pittman has 426 receptions for 4,704 yards and 21 touchdowns. His father is former NFL running back Michael Pittman, who played for the Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Denver Broncos in his career.

Fantasy Football Outlook for Pittman

Fantasy football players might want to know the lowdown on Pittman heading into Week 5 action. PFSN’s Jason Katz offers some thoughts on the Colts’ wide receiver, who he puts in his “Start ‘Em” category.

“The answer as to when to draft Michael Pittman Jr. is whenever the fantasy community isn’t in on him,” Katz wrote. “This year, he was going after Josh Downs. Evidently, that was a grievous error.”

“Pittman has hit 15+ fantasy points in three of his first four games to start the season,” Katz wrote. “With Daniel Jones playing well, Pittman’s been able to find the end zone three times already. He’s commanding a 24.4% target share and is one of just two fantasy-relevant pass-catchers on the Indianapolis Colts (the other being Tyler Warren).

“The Colts will undoubtedly continue leaning on Jonathan Taylor and the ground game,” Katz wrote. “But the Las Vegas Raiders are a pass-funnel defense. They’re allowing the eighth fewest fantasy points per game to running backs, but the third most to wide receivers. Pittman should continue rolling in this favorable matchup.”

According to PFSN’s Offense Impact (OFFi), the Colts have an Offense Impact score of 89.6 with a B+ grade this season, and have the third-best offense in the league. Pittman’s status will be something to watch for in the next day or two. His absence will surely bring changes to the metrics after the coming match.
