‘C.J. Stroud Deserves Better’ — NFL Fans Slam Texans’ Offensive Line After Shocking Error in Week 4 vs. Titans

A sack against Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud went viral as the third-year player had little to no time to think before he was brought down.

A viral sack from Tennessee Titans DT Jeffery Simmons has Houston Texans fans wondering what went wrong. Simmons completely ran through the Texans’ offensive line as QB CJ Stroud was sacked before he could even hand the ball off. While Houston is en route to winning their first game of the season, that doesn’t excuse the fact that this happened against a Tennessee Titans team that is soon to be 0-4.

NFL Fans React to C.J. Stroud’s Offensive Line Doing Him No Favors

On a clear run design, Simmons brought Stroud down in less than two seconds. In no world should Stroud be sacked in this amount of time. For an NFL team to put on that display is embarrassing, as many fans have echoed their displeasure.

“Lmao that OL needs to be locked in jail,” one fan wrote. Someone else commented, “What a joke,” as many were left speechless at the viral clip. Stroud, who had been sacked eight times in his first three games of the season, has been fighting for his life all season long. His stellar rookie season was met with a sophomore slump, and now this is the mess he’s forced to deal with.

This fan commented, “Hahahahah fire Caserio right now!! Also what is the RG doing?! I’ve never seen an offensive lineman be that poor at his job before.” Another added, “Idk if it’s possible to be sacked faster than this.” When the week comes to an end, there will likely be some sort of advanced stat to put into perspective how insane Simmons’ sack was fully.

“Yeah i’m not blaming CJ Stroud at all this year,” this individual wrote. Stroud is clearly not playing to the calibur he was two seasons ago, but there are plenty of reasons to why that is. Someone else commented, “Ridiculous how easy he got in.”

“Look at the right guard and tackle these guys are pros?” someone questioned. At the end of the day, that sure didn’t seem like a play that belonged on an NFL field. Elsewhere, people are begging for Stroud to find a change of scenery, or something to allow him to play to the best of his abilities, “Good lord CJ deserves better.”

Thankfully for Stroud, he was only brought down two times against the Titans. Houston threw the ball 28 times, as Stroud was more than efficient, 22/28. They ran the ball 35 times, once again proving that this offense’s identity runs through the ground game. During the week, Stroud received an F grade in PFSN’s QB impact.
