What Did Anna Kalinskaya Say About Holger Rune’s Determination?

Kalinskaya spoke openly when asked about tennis players approaching her for dates. She shared interesting stories about her experiences during her interview with the First&Red channel. The interviewer was curious as to whether the Russian player got asked out on dates by players. Kalinskaya responded, specifying that tennis players are the ones in her DMs.

She said, “Tennis players – more often before. Now I’m older. I don’t know, for some, it’s just no chance at all. No need to write. Someone wrote like 10 times and then gave up.” Initially, she concealed the identity of this sportsperson, but when the interviewer insisted on naming them, Kalinskaya didn’t hesitate.

“I’ll say it now, but Holger Rune. He writes to everyone. He deserves all this. Thinks too much of himself. But he’s not the only one. A couple [more],” she stated while laughing.

The World No. 32 even clarified that Rune is not the only one trying to contact her, while stating he messages various female players. This bold revelation comes just a month after her compatriot, Veronika Kudermetova, revealed that Rune had texted her.

“Rune recently texted me. I told him, ‘Boy, I’m probably too old for you. If you looked at my Instagram, you’d see I have a husband,'” she said on a podcast. “He replied, ‘Oh, sorry.’ After that, he stopped saying hi to me.”

Kalinskaya had a public relationship with Sinner throughout 2024. The Italian and Russian players confirmed their romance during the French Open last year, and also had a heartwarming moment on the Arthur Ashe stadium following Sinner’s US Open triumph.

Their relationship ended earlier in 2025. Sinner confirmed the breakup at the Italian Open in May, saying, “I’m not in a relationship” when asked in an interview.

Rune is 22 and ranked World No. 11, having reached his career-high ranking of No. 4 in 2023. The Danish star has beaten top players like Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. Reports suggest that he was in a romantic relationship with Carolina Donzella, a Dutch-Italian real estate agent, in 2023, and she was spotted cheering for him at that year’s Wimbledon.
