Belinda Bencic Quietly Married Martin Hromkovic While Expecting Their First Child

According to a Swiss outlet, 20 Minuten, Bencic and Hromkovic quietly tied the knot in a civil ceremony while she was expecting their first child. Her manager, Marijn Bal, confirmed the news, stating:

“Belinda and Martin got married in a civil ceremony during her pregnancy.” He also hinted at bigger plans ahead, adding: “They will have a more formal, official wedding with all the trimmings later this year or next year.”

Bencic herself indirectly confirmed their marital status during an appearance on the Swiss talk show Gredig Direkt, where she said, “I have complete trust in my husband and my mommy,” while speaking about balancing tennis and parenthood. The couple welcomed their daughter, Bella, on April 23, 2024, just months before Bencic returned to professional tennis.

Hromkovic, a former professional footballer who played for clubs like FK Inter Bratislava and OFC Russell Gabcikovo, transitioned into a fitness career after hanging up his boots. He holds a master’s degree from Comenius University in Bratislava and has been instrumental in keeping Bencic in peak condition.

Since Bencic’s return to tennis in late 2024, he’s continued in his dual role as her coach and life partner. The Swiss made her comeback at an ITF event in Hamburg and has since built momentum through the 2025 season with a decent performance at the Australian Open, where she reached the fourth round. She later won the Abu Dhabi Open and followed it up with a quarterfinal run in Indian Wells.
