Former NFL offensive lineman Jon Feliciano did not hold back after the WNBA decided not to discipline Paige Bueckers and Angel Reese over their recent betting-related exchange.
Jon Feliciano Calls Out WNBA over Paige Bueckers-Angel Reese Drama
The controversy began after the WNBA deleted a social-media post that featured Bueckers and Reese discussing a friendly $400 wager they had made before Wednesday night’s game between the Dallas Wings and Atlanta Dream.
After the video went viral and many people pointed out that this is against the rules, the post was deleted. The WNBA released a statement acknowledging that the post “missed the mark.” However, the league also confirmed that neither player would be punished.
“This a real league or naw??” the offensive lineman posted on X. Feliciano played 10 years in the NFL, suiting up for the Raiders, Bills, Giants, and 49ers throughout his career.

The WNBA explained its stance.
“While the social media post was intended to be lighthearted, WNBA players are well aware of the league’s policies prohibiting betting on WNBA games and receive training every year reinforcing those policies,” the league said in its statement.
“We recognized that the post missed the mark, removed it shortly after it was published, and addressed the matter internally. We will also use this as an opportunity to reemphasize with the players involved that conversations about wagering on WNBA games, even when intended as a joke, can have negative consequences.”
The now-deleted video showed Bueckers and Reese joking about a $400 wager tied to Wednesday’s matchup. Atlanta won 82-81, and Reese joked that she would be requesting her Apple Pay, and later referenced the wager again in a post on X.

Under the WNBA’s collective bargaining agreement, players are prohibited from wagering on league games. Article XIV, Section 5(c) states that any player found to have wagered directly or indirectly on any aspect of a WNBA game may face a fine, suspension, or dismissal, at the commissioner’s discretion.
Gambling has become a major issue in sports these days, as a number of NBA players (including Terry Rozier and Malik Beasley) are fighting federal charges.
Meanwhile, in college football, Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby admitted to privately battling a gambling addiction while placing at least $90,000 in impermissible wagers across his time at Indiana, Cincinnati, and Texas Tech.
Now, after being ruled ineligible to play college football and after the NFL decided not to hold a supplemental draft, he is sitting out this year before entering the 2027 NFL Draft.
