2020 NFL Mock Draft: The Bengals supercharge their offense

With a quarter of the season out of the way, let's dive into the first two rounds of talent based on the obvious needs of each team. The first two days can provide game-changing talent.

We are five weeks into the 2019 NFL season and some might say it’s way too early for a mock draft. Well, we have now seen more than a quarter of the season materialize and team needs are becoming more transparent. While it is almost certain that the draft order will change, it’s never too soon to marry NFL team needs to the top draft-eligible prospects.

Click here to catch up on the latest CFB Week 7 updates from the PFN College Football Live Game Day Blog with Tony Pauline and the PFN Draft Staff. Lots of inside information, including some news regarding Georgia Bulldogs DB Richard LeCounte and Oklahoma Sooners WR CeeDee Lamb. Will they be entering the NFL Draft? Pauline has the scoop on which way they are leaning at this time.

Looking at teams, it was once a foregone conclusion that the Miami Dolphins were destined to secure the number one overall selection in the 2020 NFL draft; however, there is some stiff competition. The “Tank for Tua” sweepstakes is hot and heavy, as the Jets, Redskins, Bengals, and Dolphins all remain winless. Over the remaining 11 weeks of the season, these four teams all play each other, starting with the Redskins traveling to play the Dolphins this week. Who ends up with the first pick? Only time will tell.

For prospects, one of the most intriguing storylines of the 2020 NFL draft will be seeing which teams make the bold move to draft a quarterback. There are plenty of good ones in this draft class, including Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa, Oregon’s Justin Herbert, Georgia’s Jake Fromm, Utah State’s Jordan Love, and LSU’s Joe Burrow leading the pack.

It’s almost a guarantee that teams like the Dolphins and Bengals will be selecting a quarterback, but could we see a team like the Redskins jump into the quarterback frenzy? While Washington just drafted Dwayne Haskins last year, we saw the Cardinals do it when they selected Kyler Murray with the number one overall pick just one year after exhausting a top-ten selection on Josh Rosen. Crazier things have happened, and let’s not forget they will be hiring a new head coach.

As far as the draft order for the purposes of this mock draft, I am utilizing the current draft order, which comes straight off of NFL.com.
