Zamir White’s Fantasy Outlook

Last year, Jacobs was a league-winning fantasy RB after going in the fourth/fifth round range with an RB3 finish return on that draft investment in PPR formats.

Unfortunately, Jacobs is just one of the many talented RBs struggling to get a long-term deal, which has resulted in him being franchise-tagged by the Raiders and consequently holding out.

Should the Jacobs holdout linger into the regular season, White would be first in line to see an expanded role.

His 2023 preseason debut was encouraging, carrying the ball seven times on the team’s opening drive, with his final carry finding the end zone from one yard out. White finished the game with 13 carries for 43 yards and a score.

At the very least, White appears to have the inside track to early-down and short-yardage work should Jacobs miss any time in 2023.

However, should Jacobs return to the team before the start of the season, White may very well be rendered back to fantasy handcuff island, seeing that he never saw more than three carries in any game and didn’t catch a single pass last season.

Should You Draft Zamir White at His Current ADP?

Currently, White is either going in the final round of fantasy drafts or completely undrafted altogether as the RB61 off the board.

White’s ADP is telling us that fantasy managers believe Jacobs will return at some point before the start of the season.

However, if Jacobs isn’t bluffing and intends to hold out due to frustration surrounding his contract, White is an absolute steal at his current price.

His current ADP removes any potential risk and gives you nothing but upside as a handcuff to Jacobs. If Jacobs plays, then White is an injury away from having fantasy value. If Jacobs holds out, then you are getting a Flex-worthy RB with the last pick of your draft.

At this price, White is a no-brainer selection in the final round.
