The NFL remains far and away the leader of the market when it comes to sports in the country. But rather than watch the games alone, fans tend to take it a step further with their enjoyment of the product by attaching stakes to the games.
A large majority focuses on fantasy leagues, with a select few outlets standing among the biggest platforms to engage in such a competition. Yahoo Sports and its fantasy football app are among the biggest platforms available. But during the Monday Night Football clash between the Baltimore Ravens and the Detroit Lions, it served as a source of great frustration for fans.
What Happened to Yahoo Fantasy Football?
According to software available on the Internet, Yahoo’s fantasy football website has been experiencing an issue about 15 minutes before kickoff between Baltimore and Detroit.
Beginning around 8 p.m. ET, the problems continued to persist for close to half an hour. While the situation seems to have gotten better, it still isn’t smooth sailing for everybody. In that timeframe, 637 different people reported problems with the website.

Some took their frustration to social media as well, with memes and reactions flying in quickly. One fan even brought back the “C’mon, do something” meme, captioning it “repeatedly reloading Yahoo fantasy.”
He wasn’t the only one who brought out jokes about the situation, with one fan adding the following image with the caption, “Yahoo fantasy app devs rn”

For others, though, the frustration was palpable, especially with a critical matchup featuring some extremely popular players like Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry, and Amon-Ra St. Brown in the game.

As one fan complained, “Yahoo fantasy is broken again, huh?” Another had a concise, “Yahoo fantasy broken fix it.”
A fantasy league website suffering from some problems, especially early in the season, isn’t a wholly uncommon sight. With the insane amount of traffic Yahoo’s fantasy football app generates, some hiccups are a part of the process that fans have gotten used to.
The problem isn’t unique to Yahoo itself. But with a game as pivotal for multiple managers, featuring four of the top-30 fantasy selections, according to Yahoo, the frustration was understandable given the magnitude of the ordeal.
At the time of writing, Henry, Gibbs and David Montgomery scored one touchdown each as the Lions led 14-7.
