The Cleveland Browns are watching another familiar face prepare to walk out the door. Just days after tight end David Njoku posted his own farewell, another Browns starter shared a goodbye message of his own, signaling that his seven-year run in Cleveland is likely over.
Wyatt Teller Bids Farewell As Browns’ Offensive Line Faces Major Transition
In a lengthy Instagram post, two-time All-Pro guard Wyatt Teller reflected on the trade that brought him from Buffalo to Cleveland in 2019Â and the life he built there.
“I wish things were different and this is hard to put into words,” Teller wrote. “When Buffalo traded me to Cleveland seven years ago, I never could have imagined how much this city would mean to me. Ultimately, the Browns took a chance on me that changed the trajectory of my life forever.”
The message carried the tone of closure. Teller referenced proposing to his wife, Carly, on the 50-yard line, buying their first home in the area, and welcoming both of their children in Cleveland. He thanked fans for their loyalty and signed off.
“I’ve made friendships and connections on and off the field that will last far beyond the game of football,” Teller wrote. “Our family is so blessed and grateful for everyone in Northeast Ohio who has supported and loved us these past seven years.”
Teller arrived in Cleveland just before the 2019 season and took over as the starting right guard midway through that year. From there, he developed into one of the league’s premier run blockers. He started 94 games for the Browns and earned back-to-back second-team All-Pro honors at his peak.
His physical style helped power one of the NFL’s most productive rushing attacks. Viral pancake blocks became part of his reputation, and alongside Joel Bitonio, JC Tretter, and later Ethan Pocic, he formed the backbone of an offensive line that carried Cleveland to the playoffs.
The business side now appears unavoidable. Teller carries a cap hit of $19.404 million in 2026 and $11.111 million in 2027 due to void years in his contract. A post-June 1 designation would reduce those numbers to $8.293 million and $6.493 million, giving the Browns meaningful flexibility.
His exit comes during a broader transition up front. Pocic is a free agent recovering from an Achilles injury. Right tackle Jack Conklin is also a free agent. Bitonio is again weighing retirement. Teller himself battled a calf injury late last season that ultimately landed him on injured reserve.
Cleveland’s offensive line once defined its identity. Now, it is being reshaped piece by piece.
