WWE Star and Bears Superfan Seth Rollins Delivers Strong Verdict on Vikings QB J.J. McCarthy for 2025

WWE superstar Seth Rollins makes his feelings clear about Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy, while predicting a huge NFC North shakeup.

WWE superstar Seth Rollins is far from shy about his love for the Chicago Bears. His on-stage appearance at the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay was evidence of that. In a recent episode of “The Rich Eisen Show,” however, it was the Minnesota Vikings that Rollins turned on, with one particular player the subject of his trolling.

What did Seth Rollins Say About Vikings Quarterback J.J. McCarthy?

During his appearance on the show, Rollins reviewed the Bears’ schedule for the 2025 season and predicted their wins and losses. Unsurprisingly, the WWE star projected Chicago to win the NFC North, with five wins against his team’s division rivals.

The team’s schedule begins with a home game against the Vikings, with Rollins projecting a win for his favorite team.

“At home, Monday Night Football, rookie quarterback on the other side; Dennis Allen is going to feast on J.J. McCarthy. That’s the bottom line, we’re gonna win that game.”

Rollins wasn’t done with McCarthy, though. He expanded on his thoughts when the return game was mentioned. The Bears travel to Minnesota in Week 11, and the wrestling star expects another Bears win.

“I do not think J.J. McCarthy is gonna beat Chicago this season. I don’t think it’s gonna happen. Not at home, not in Minnesota, not in Chicago, not gonna happen.”

It was then put to Rollins that McCarthy is a regular viewer of the show, something that only encouraged the guest.

“Good. Please, use it as motivation, go out there and throw a few interceptions.”

Is Seth Rollins Right to Doubt J.J. McCarthy?

It’s important to note that, while Rollins singled out the Vikings quarterback, the digs were merely part of the guest’s relentlessly bullish feelings toward his own team. Nevertheless, the only other player to be singled out as much as McCarthy was George Kittle, but the tight end was lauded, rather than mocked.

McCarthy has yet to play a snap in the NFL and had his fair share of doubters even before his injury. His lack of output as part of Jim Harbaugh’s run-heavy Michigan team caused many to doubt his credentials as a top-10 draft pick.

Despite that, Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell has shown a lot of faith in the young quarterback, evidenced by the team’s decision to move on from Sam Darnold in March. Darnold had a career year in 2024, leading the team to the playoffs and narrowly missing out on an NFC North title.

However, O’Connell has shown an ability to get the best out of a number of different quarterbacks during his time as Vikings head coach. McCarthy is a solid game manager with enough composure and arm talent to be successful in the NFL. The Bears will be expected to take a step forward under new head coach Ben Johnson, but the Vikings aren’t a team to be overlooked either.
