What’s Wrong With ESPN’s Fantasy Football App? Calls Mount for a Quick Fix As Fans Express Frustration

During the TNF game between the Buccaneers and the Falcons, fans' frustration quickly boiled over the ESPN fantasy app not working properly.

For a significant portion of the NFL fan base, watching football is closely tied to their enjoyment of competing in fantasy. With fans collaborating to build their teams meticulously, each game becomes a valuable enjoyment experience for them.

As a result, live projections and updates are crucial for players to know their current standing during a game. Unfortunately, during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons matchup on Thursday Night Football in Week 15, one of the largest fantasy football providers, ESPN, experienced a breakdown, much to fans’ dismay.

Fans Call out ESPN for Broken Fantasy App

With updates critical to the fantasy football experience, particularly during a live game, fans were understandably upset about the app crashing on them. As a result, numerous complaints were logged against them.

On the Down Detector website, thousands of reports were logged in a half-hour span leading up to halftime in the game. While the situation improved for some, most still found the app glitching.

With the live scoring not displaying on the platform, fans took to social media to express their anger. As one fan wrote, “@ESPNFantasy, fix the ESPN Fantasy Football App, it is not showing the players’ scores! This is ridiculous! #fixtheapp.”

Others tried to take a more hilarious approach, joking, “ESPN FANTASY app decided to take a day off I guess.” Others believed the timing of the glitch was what made the situation all the worse.

As they complained, “ESPN Fantasy not working during the fantasy playoffs, nice,” others were direct in voicing their frustration to the company directly. “Hellooooo, ESPN fantasy @ESPNFantasy The game started an hour ago.”

In a high-scoring first half, where the two teams combined for 27 points and three touchdowns, there was a huge chance of major change for relevant fantasy players. As a result, the timing of the glitch made it all the worse for the fans.

The hope is that the problem will be fixed sooner rather than later, especially with the kind of performance Kyle Pitts Sr. is having. In a certain make-or-break season for the former first-round pick, he’s found his groove over the last three games.

Tallying 172 receiving yards over the last two games, he further turned it up a notch against Tampa Bay in the first half, tallying 111 yards and two touchdowns in the period. That kind of performance could be vital to any fantasy players who have him on the squad.

As a result, fans’ frustrations over the ESPN app’s delay certainly seemed understandable.
