UCLA center Lauren Betts is just a few days away from playing her senior year with the Bruins. But more than this, she looks forward to playing together with her younger sister Sienna, who happens to be her teammate at UCLA.
Sienna Betts is a five-star prospect who is No. 2 in the Class of 2025 SportsCenter Next rankings behind USC’s Jazzy Davidson, and she’s expected to play a vital role in the Bruins’ quest to win the 2025-26 women’s college basketball season. But what isn’t well documented is the relationship of the sisters off the court.
How Does Lauren Betts Treat Younger Sister Sienna Off The Court?
Lauren Betts shed light on her off-court relationship with her sister, Sienna, in an interview with NBC Sports as part of its preview of the Big Ten Conference, which UCLA is a part of. She said that Sienna and her have different friends and they allow themselves to have time out with them after practice.
“She has nothing to do with me outside of practice. Like once we finish practice, she’s like, “All right, I’m going to hang out with my friends,” Lauren Betts said. “I’m like, ‘Okay, bye. I don’t.’ It was like I don’t know you, I guess.”
The sisters also appeared in the podcast “In Case You Missed It with Khristina Williams” and elaborated on the setup. Lauren said that both of them live in separate rooms, which she said is good for them to explore the outside world.
But when they come to practice, it’s a different story.
“”So like Sienna and I know what we’re thinking most of the time and like we know how to speak to each other when we’re like both frustrated or we support each other out there as well,” she said.
Lauren Betts added that her younger sister has been able to cope with the difficult situation she’s in as UCLA tries to improve on their Final Four finish last season.
“I feel like she’s doing a really good job of adjusting. And I always remind her to give herself grace because it is really hard,” she said of Sienna. “She works really hard. She’s getting more used to how we run things. So she looks better every single day.”
The Betts sisters will team up with returnees Gabriela Jaquez, Kiki Rice, Timea Gardiner and comebacking Charlissee Leger-Walker. They also beefed up their shooting guard spot with the addition of former Utah star Gianna Kneepkens from the transfer portal.
The UCLA Bruins open the 2025-26 women’s college basketball season as the 3rd-ranked team in the AP Preseason poll behind South Carolina and defending champion UConn. They start their new journey against San Diego State on Nov. 3 at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
