Dawn Staley opened up to the basketball fans by making an emotional post on social media about her former players, who are now WNBA All-Stars.
A simple “family over everybody” note to A’ja Wilson, Aliyah Boston, and the rest of the old South Carolina Gamecocks players displayed how closely she was connected to her players and how well she kept their relationships going.

The post featured three of her more successful players: Wilson (Las Vegas Aces), Boston (Indiana Fever), and Allisha Gray (Atlanta Dream). All three are serving as starters for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game.
Staley’s influence over all these players goes beyond their college years with her. Wilson, the 2024 WNBA MVP, is a seven-time All-Star and was instrumental in the Aces’ winning back-to-back titles.
Boston, the 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year, still plays at an elite level for the Fever. Both players stated that much of their success can be credited to Staley and is a by-product of the foundation they set while playing at South Carolina.
