‘Pushing A’ja Wilson, Paige Bueckers Down Our Throats’ — WNBA World Reacts to Caitlin Clark ‘Disrespect’ in 2026 GM Survey

The WNBA world lambasted the league's GMs for their stunning Caitlin Clark snub in two major categories of the 2026 GM survey.

The Caitlin Clark effect was the buzz on social media following the results of the 2026 WNBA GM survey. The Indiana Fever’s star guard has been widely credited for her role in pushing the league’s popularity ranks higher among other sports.

However, the results of the survey with regard to Clark saw the GMs cop massive flak. The WNBA’s X (formerly Twitter) handle posted the results, and those following the sport didn’t pull their punches.

WNBA World Reacts to WNBA GM Survey Snubbing Caitlin Clark in Two Major Categories

The WNBA world minced no words when it shared its thoughts on the 2026 WNBA GM Survey. Clark was listed under two major categories: (i) the best point guard in the WNBA and (ii) the player around whom they would start a franchise. In a stunning move, the Fever superstar was snubbed in both categories.

Veteran Las Vegas Aces playmaker Chelsea Gray was voted a whopping 73% over Clark (20%) and Dallas Wings’ Paige Bueckers (7%).

The GMs also picked Bueckers, around whom they would start a franchise. She had 33% of the votes, followed by Clark and A’ja Wilson at 20% each. Dominique Malonga had 13% to her name. Safe to say, this didn’t sit well with those following the sport closely.

The Caitin Clark News fan account didn’t hold back, posting a video lambasting the GMs. “Caitlin Clark Fever Disrespect Is Out Of Control… WNBA GMs Exposed 2026 Survey Reaction,” the post read.

Broadcaster Robin Lundberg called out the take as well, but believed it would unlock a different side of Clark in the upcoming season. “I don’t think Caitlin Clark cares about being featured, promoted, or celebrated. I do think she will take these rankings as a slight and motivation,” he wrote.

Adding to this was the Clark Report. “Only 20% of WNBA GM’s voted Caitlin Clark as best Point Guard in the WNBA, as compared to 50% last year. Fuel to the flame,” the post read.

Hoops account @Update_Central didn’t hold back, saying, “Yeah, pushing A’ja and Paige down our throats. Losing interest in WNBA.”

“Last year, Caitlin Clark got 50% of the vote, and that’s down to 20% now… I’m not even inherently mad at Paige being the player who is voted here. But like, between the (who will win the 2026 WNBA) Finals vote and this, we do remember who Caitlin Clark is, right?” asked content creator Vanshay.

The tirade continued with fans calling out the GMs for their surprise choices. On the season front, all eyes will be on Clark with the survey firmly putting the spotlight on the former Iowa Hawkeyes star.

Despite Clark missing a majority of the 2025 WNBA season, the Fever still made the second round of the playoffs. This time, they will hope their mainstay can lead them to a title. If anything, the survey results surely will have fans of the franchise keeping receipts.
