The fallout from Enes Kanter’s confrontation with Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud on Sunday continues to reverberate.
Front Office Sports reported Tuesday that Sky owner Michael Alter confirmed during a conversation with beat writers and local Chicago media that the former NBA player has been banned from Wintrust Arena. The decision quickly drew strong reactions from around the WNBA.
Enes Kanter’s Natasha Cloud Clash Takes Another Turn as Sky Ban Him From Arena
The Kanter-Cloud verbal spat happened late in the third quarter of the Sky’s game against the Indiana Fever. According to Alter, based on the information he gathered, Kanter started the back-and-forth with Cloud.
The real estate developer described the exchange as “trash talking, nothing personal,” but said Kanter wanted to get Cloud’s attention and “provoke her.”
Cloud became visibly upset and moved toward Kanter, who wanted to confront her before security stopped him from entering the court. Alter said “he made himself into a threat,” which led arena security to remove him.
Kanter will only be allowed back into the Sky’s arena if “he’s able to prove” that “he’s able to abide by our rules without being a potential threat.”

Kanter has been a vocal supporter of Sophie Cunningham’s stance that biological men should not be allowed to compete against women. During the game, he wore a shirt that read:
“WOMAN noun. adult human female.”
Some observers believed the shirt contributed to Cloud’s reaction.
“What rule dude he break, and what made him a threat? Your player approached him over a shirt,” a WNBA supporter wondered.
The situation could extend beyond the Sky. According to ESPN on Monday, the WNBA has not yet decided whether to also bar Kanter from attending league games.
The 6-foot-10 former NBA center announced his intention to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft last month. Front Office Sports reported Monday that Kanter is not eligible for the draft, though he is still awaiting direct confirmation from the WNBA.
For now, Kanter’s arena ban is limited to the Sky’s home venue. Whether the league takes further action remains the next question, leaving the confrontation far from settled.
