Everyone’s buzzing about the upcoming showdown between the Las Vegas Aces and the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA. If you don’t get the hype, maybe basketball just isn’t your thing. At the heart of it, this one’s all about Becky Hammon and Kelsey Plum.
Plum was one of Hammon’s top players and a star on the Aces. She joined the Sparks in 2025 after spending seven seasons in Las Vegas. As head coach, Hammon has to figure out how to stop her former star from taking over the game.
Ahead of this strategy-heavy battle, fans are starting to learn more about the teams — and about Hammon’s personal life. Despite her public role, she’s managed to keep things fairly private. Still, we do know her partner is Brenda Milano, a former basketball player and coach.
Meet Becky Hammon’s Partner, Brenda Milano
Hammon’s partner, Milano, is a former basketball player who later moved into coaching. No surprise — they met through the sport. According to Sports Brief, they first met in 2010 and started dating four years later.
With both of them coming from coaching backgrounds, they seem to understand each other’s lifestyle better than most. Hammon and Milano have two adopted children, Cayden and Samuel.
They keep their family life mostly private, but sometimes post happy moments with their sons on social media.

Even so, the couple has kept most of their relationship out of the spotlight, and that’s by choice. They’ve made a clear effort to protect their family’s privacy, opting to share only glimpses of their life together when it feels right, usually around holidays, special milestones, or quiet moments at home.
Milano earned her degree in marketing and later earned an MBA in sports management from Seton Hall University. She also coached at Wagner College from 1991 to 1995, building a strong foundation in both athletics and leadership. Her experience on and off the court shaped her into someone who understands the demands of competitive sports and the importance of balance.
Right now, Hammon is the only one still coaching at the professional level. Milano has shifted her focus entirely to raising their two kids and managing the day-to-day responsibilities of family life, from school drop-offs to meals and everything in between.
You could say she’s retired from coaching, but her plate is still full. Hammon, meanwhile, is juggling motherhood with the pressure of preparing to face her former star, Plum, in one of the most anticipated matchups of the WNBA season.
